Microbial growth needs a lot of moisture to survive. This crawl space was improperly wrapped during construction and as a result, the moisture level stayed high. Because this homeowner's parents lived in the home as well, the concern for microbial growth affecting health was much higher.
These homeowners recently purchased the home and found issues with their crawl space from the inspection. They are planning to live here for good and want to ensure that they have a healthy and clean home.
In order to help them, we need to regrade the crawlspace, remove debris, and install multiple products such as: a triplesafe pump - iceguard - and a drainine system. Lastly, we will be installing cleanspace with drainage matting to keep the space clean and dry.
Crawlspace entrances are usually very small and hard to get in to. The metal shrouds and doors will rust and the open bottom lets in ground water. The Turtl is a great addition to any crawlspace. It is made of solid, heavy duty plastic and will never rot, mold, or rust. It has a solid bottom so that no ground water will come up from underneath. My favorite part is that you can easily get in and out of the crawlspace after installing a Turtl. This makes it infinitely better when replacing ducts or a well pump or any other equipment under your home.
This Wicomico County home had all kinds of problems. This insulation was hanging from moisture and the ground was very wet. The whole environment was like a swamp. DryZone went in and pulled out the nasty insulation and cleaned the space. After the prep work, the crews installed the heavy duty CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SaniDry dehumidifier (not shown). This crawl space is now ready to dry out and stay that way. In the near future the homeowner can expect to notice better smells, warmer floors, and a healthier home.
This musty crawl space was taken from complete disarray to a beautiful space by DryZone.
