Hollis began his career with Nova in 2004, working with installation crews and learning the industry at the ground level.  In 2006, he transitioned to our team of estimators, where he designs the solutions our crews use to solve our customer's problems.  

Hollis has been in hundreds of homes over the years, and he uses his unique perspective to tailor a solution specific to each individual homeowner.  

Hollis earned a master's degree from Purdue University and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He is the proud father of a beautiful daughter, Alyssa.

In order to control moisture from the cove joint of the wall and the floor at the perimeter of the basement, we broke out the concrete floor, and drilled weep holes into the cinderblock. This will drain the wall at the cove joint so we can control where the water enters the home. We then installed drainage stone and the WaterGuard system to the trench, and concreted over the system. The SuperSump pump was plumbed to the back corner of the home and discharged to the outside, through an Iceguard and a buried drain tile 12 feet away from the house by the fence, terminating in a drywell box...

In order to stop groundwater seepage onto the basement floor, we jackhammered out the perimeter of the basement, and hauled away all the concrete and related debris. Next we dug a trench and drilled weep holes (in the block walls). We then laid out filter cloth in that trench to minimize sediment getting into system and installed our WaterGuard system on the foundation footing, and finally backfilled with river rock stone, and mortared over the top. SuperSump
In order to channel water away from the garage, we installed a Trench Drain in front of the garage. We tied that into an existing drain that would redirect that water to an area away from the garage.
The WaterGuard solution is designed to control perimeter water from the cove joint, and redirect that water to a sump pit. We broke out the concrete around the perimeter of the foundation, and set and installed a sump pump. Then we re-concreted over those areas. Then we plumbed the sump pump to an IceGuard, that transitions plumbing from 1 1/2" plumbing to a 4" discharge line. To avoid water from backing up into the interior system, the slots in the IceGuard allow water to escape if the 4" discharge line were to completely freeze. To finish off the walls, and to also...
