We recently moved into this address and there is a sump pump in the basement that is overdue for an annual maintenance.

Need control on humidity for floor installation. Basement now collects water after rain. Renovation of 1930s bungalow in Plaza-Midwood neighborhood (Charlotte.) Small basement has always flooded. Now, we have original foundation, plus new foundation in newly added area. Original foundation included small basement, 13 ft x17 ft x 7 ft. This area floods to 1-2 in after heavy rain, drains quickly with sump pump (small Zoeller, poorly installed.) Have done some exterior drain work, has improved situation but not enough. We are looking for professional help to understand and address problem at this point. Even with proper exterior work (grading, gutters, above ground channels or French drains (or both)) we think we may need an interior system involving the old and new crawl spaces and basement. Basement will be for utility and storage only, it opens to the crawl space. Can you help? We are in Charlotte.
