Before & After Photos

                This basement in Weaverville, NC was having water issues. Water would seep down the walls from ground level and puddle on the floors. These home owners did the right thing by calling All-Dry of the Carolinas. Our All-Dry crew was able to tackle this issue with three of our most used products: WaterGuard, CleanSpace, and the TripleSafe Pump.

In the “before” picture you see the corner of the basement before our All-Dry team started installing the WaterGuard and TripleSafe Pump. In the “after” picture you are able to see where the WaterGuard has been placed around the perimeter of the basement.

Water intrusion is an issue that we have seen since the very beginning of our business. This home was proof that water problems in basements are not going anywhere. Unfortunately, this is a reality that too many have to face. However, there is a relatively simple, and effective way to keep water out of the basement.

This home had been plagued with water intrusion and all of the problems that go along with it for awhile. The problems started to get worse, so they finally made a few calls, which led them to us. They set up an appointment with one of our Systems Design Specialist, who was able to visit the home and figure out exactly what was needed to keep water out of their basement. In order to prevent water intrusion and a high humidity level in the basement, our Specialist suggested our WaterGuard Drain, SuperSump Pump System, and a dehumidifier to help with the humidity level.

Once our crew got to the house a few weeks later, they immediately began working. They began by removing a few inches of concrete floor near the wall, as well as a hole for the sump pump. The SuperSump pump system was then installed and the crew began to work on the discharge line. Meanwhile, the WaterGuard drain was being installed in the "trench" that was cut out for it. Once everything was installed, the crew mixed up some concrete so that the WaterGuard and area around the sump pump could be covered, making it seem like nothing ever happened.

This homeowner noticed a problem when he saw that water was slowly seeping into his finished basement. This is a killer when it comes to water intrusion. Sometimes a home may just have a flood of water when it rains, but this isn't the standard. Often, water intrusion and later water damage/mold problems come from a slow leak or seeping, because it is much less noticeable than a "river" flowing under your home. This is what began happening to this customer.

The "before" picture shows the area before the Waterguard was installed. While you can't see water in this photo, this was one of the main areas where water was seeping through the block wall.

The "after" photo shows off the same area, but with the Waterguard drain system installed. While the Waterguard does not prevent water from seeping through the wall, it does reroute the water to the sump pump. This prevents water from simply sitting and soaking into the floor, wall, or even the drywall. This is especially important to the drywall since mold can and will start to grow on the organic materials in the drywall.

This homeowner knew of their water intrusion issues way before they called us, but they didn't realize that there was an effective way to stop the water. The homeowner already had a sump pump in their basement, but it could only do so much by itself. The homeowner knew this and when they saw one of our TV commercials, they knew exactly who could help fix these problems.

When our Systems Design Specialist went out to the home, he knew that this homeowner was going to need a little bit more than just a sump pump, which was the only thing the homeowner had at the time. Our Specialist was able to quote a full basement waterproofing project for the homeowner, so that they wouldn't have to worry about any further damage to the home.

The crew was then able to go out to the home and install the system just a few weeks later. All in all the homeowner had WaterGuard, a dehumidifier, and a SuperSump system installed in the basement, but we'll be focusing on the sump pump. As you can see, the sump pump that was installed in this basement is much different than the previous one. Our sump systems come with a liner that is airtight on top, meaning that no moisture will come out of the top. It also has a convenient area for the dehumidifier to drain to, which is what you can see in the after photo.

Wet basements are something that nobody ever wants to have to deal with, however for many homeowners it is something that they will have to deal with. This customer happened to be one of these unlucky homeowners who have to deal with water intrusion in the basement. In this homeowner's case, whenever it would rain in the area, water would start to make its way into the basement. While this may not seem like a huge issue, water continuously coming into the basement can begin to cause problems after awhile.

The "before" photo shows off one of the areas where this homeowner was getting quite a bit of water in the basement. As you can see, this entire corner was pretty soaked. This would happen just about every time that it would rain in the area. This was one of the areas that had it the worst, but there were still other areas in the basement that water was getting into. 

The "after" picture shows the same area as the previous picture, but after our products had been installed in the basement. There was much more that was done in this home to help with the problem, but the product here is the WaterGuard Drain. WaterGuard is completely in the floor and is not invasive at all. When installed, it leaves a small gap between the floor and the wall, where the water flows into. It is then drained off to the sump pump where it is pumped out and away from the home. This is a relatively simple system, but it must be done correctly.
