They called when they arrived, which for us is important because we have two loud dogs who get very excited when people come.
There was some miscommunication regarding when we were told the installation crew would come and do the preliminary inspection. It took two calls for us to rescheduled, but that second call got things done. The guy called us back quickly and we were rescheduled promptly.
The only issue I had was that it took a few hours to get back to us regarding the rescheduling for the preliminary assessment, but that was handled promptly after the second phone call.
Took time to tell us about the process they used and to show us their products.
They got in, did their job, showed us what they did after each day and explained the process at the end of each day.
They covered the floors, though, there really wasn't much that needed to be covered. Our basement was a demolition zone, but they took pains to cover the carpeted area that didn't need to be torn up.
Even though the sales person explained what would likely happen, the installation crew had to change some things around to make the repair and waterproofing process better in the long run. You can tell they took pride in what their work and in the company.
They said they would arrive at around 830 - the first day was a few minutes earlier than the allotted time. The second day was 30 min earlier than the scheduled time. The third day was on time. Since we knew this was going to be a three-day process, this timing worked just right for us.
We looked into two other companies before we chose Badger Basement. The first came the night we submitted the request form, which was about 6pm. Thought that was surprising, but being relatively new to Wisconsin, we thought that that was maybe just how it was done. Our contractor (who we know through a friend) was as prompt. However, when he looked at our basement, he spent maybe 30 min looking around, telling us the process, but wasn't as thorough. We were ok, but not thrilled, with that as long as he knew what he was doing. The second company that came to look spent all of 20 minutes with us. He set his bag on the floor, walked around, said, "you need to get rid of that mold stuff and then let us know and we can take a second look around and tell you what you need." When we asked how can we get rid of the mold without having to pay an arm and a leg, he gave us the number to a guy he said the company has referred before. He was friendly enough, but a bit too curt and when we asked what thoughts he had on the repair process, we received a vague, "oh i dont want to say just in case what we end up having to do is different. so just let me know when you're ready to repair." We were not impressed, especially my wife. When Badger Basement came to inpsect, Scott (or perhaps his name was Steve? I'm so sorry I can't remember and I can't find the folder we were given) was very thorough - took the entire alotted 2 hours. He did mention we had the mold issue and explained what to tear down, but unlike the second company, instead of just handing us a card or trying to buy more service from us, told us how we could DIY (which, we're grateful for., We're not rich and what we can help with to save time and money, we'll do!) He told us how we could get rid of the mold ourselves and that he would definitely go with our contractor to help with the demolition and the rebuilding the drywall and what not. He said Badger Basement could do it but that would cost thousands more vs the money we could save by doing it ourselves. The amount of time he spent with us, explaining the process Badger Basement used, showing us all those brochures, having the product on hand, the patience with answering our questions, sold us.
We have already recommended you to our neighbor on Meadow Lane. Our neighbor was really...
