What are Crawl Space Liner and Vapor Barrier?

Prior to installing the CleanSpace® liner, vents are typically covered and sealed. Hatchways, sills, and rim joists are sealed as well.

Prior to encapsulating your crawlspace with CleanSpace, it's important to seal off the foundation vents and other outside air leaks. Our vents covers are made out of durable plastic and are available in gray, red, and black colors that will blend in with most home foundations. They will never rust, rot, or corrode and attach permanently with drilled-in anchors. The vent covers install with foam insulation and gasket material on the inside to completely seals off outside air!

What Does Sealing Do?

Once your crawlspace is sealed, humidity from the earth and outside air cannot enter. In many cases, after a CleanSpace® System is installed, the relative humidity levels of the crawlspace drops from 80% to 35%! An antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh effectively treats and deters the growth of mold and mildew on the liner. CleanSpace® also works as a passive barrier from radon gas seeping in from the earth. Termites, as well as mice, insects and vermin, are discouraged by the tough CleanSpace® liner and by the DRY space! There is no plastic smell associated with the installation of CleanSpace.
