The homeowner became understandably concerned when he noticed cracks emerging in the exterior walls. As a common sign of foundation settlement, the homeowner knew they had to act fast in order to get the issue resolved.
Washed out soils allowed the foundation to be exposed in areas around the home. This was breeding ground for water intrusion and mold growth.
Over time, the shifting and erosion of soil can lead to the settling of block piers initially installed in the crawl space, causing them to lose their capacity to support the floor joists above.
The homeowner had become alarmed when they noticed an increasing number of cracks appearing on the surface of his concrete back patio, prompting them to find an immediate solution.
Our teams started excavating the area to make room for the new drain to be installed.
When concrete settles, it often creates significant trip hazards, which can pose a serious risk of injury.
The settling of the concrete front porch has led to the detachment of the brick columns from the roof above. If not addressed, there is a high likelihood of the columns falling over and the roof collapsing.
To protect the patio from future damage and prevent flooding, LRE prepared the site for the installation of a trench drain, also known as a channel drain, on this patio.
