Comment: Crawl space that needs minor excavating min 12" under beams and pipes and min 18" under floor joists. Then basement and crawl space need min 6 mil plastic vapor barrier to prevent humidity. Review and evaluate foundation to determine stability and their ability to handle weight bearing loads. Replace diameter logs and wood post with Permanent steel concrete filled lally columns.

Comment: My crawlspace is underneath a lakehouse. i am one of the few that live on the road during the winter and it was used as a summer house prior. i would love to be able to insulate it properly and have it all set up so it is perfectly suitable for summer and winter without having to build a new foundation. my goal is to be able to keep this and go up a level with my house for my family. i saw a video i will enclose that makes it seem like crawlspaces arent a bad thing when they are properly taken care of. doing a whole new foundation is certainly out of the question currently but hoping this is a possibility. the floors are always freezing and i feel cold leak through the cabinets like crazy. i look forward to speaking with you. here is the link for the youtube video that made this option seem like a smart choice rather than a huge expensive raising of the foundation(all of which i am unfamiliar with) . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl5Vxkvne2A thanks a lot, devin
