Burlington, VT 05408I recently heard the sump running continuously today (moving no water). After closer inspection it appears that the Battery backup charge controller/ pump control may have been damaged by water at some point recently. I am having a difficult time seeing the state of the pump and float switch due to the existing cover over the sump. The sump can still turn on, but I have obviously shut off the GFCI breaker that powers it. I am looking for some advice and/or a servicing of the whole system so we know it is in good shape headed into fall and winter.

Others are wood and shimmed with plywood. No cement footings. Earth is closely shoveled against foundation and held up by random pieces of wood. Current location of water heater, HVAC, and furnace.
