Homeowners in Pearcy saw one of our trucks and contacted us for help. They had noticed soft spots in the floor and the smell of mold coming from their crawl space. Craigen went to speak with the homeowners about their concerns and then inspected their crawl space. He put together a detailed proposal, explained the issues he found, and they approved his plan.
When Bryan and his crew arrived, they took the time to introduce themselves to the homeowners and went over the plan for their crawl space. First, they wanted to address the structural issues. The floor joists needed some additional support, so they added supporting floor joists to the existing floor joists making the floor more solid in the home. The entire crawl space was graded to provide a smooth surface for the CleanSpace Drainage Matting and Liner. The piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to eliminate condensation from forming on masonry. SilverGlo Insulation Panels were installed on the walls insulating them with graphite infused polystyrene foam and a reflective surface that reflects heat back into the crawl space to keep heating and cooling costs down. The Drainage Matting is installed in pre-cut rolls to ease installation. Installed dimple side down, the Drainage Matting directs any ground water runoff out of the crawl space and provides durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break.
The CleanSpace Liner rests on the Drainage Matting. The CleanSpace Liner is a 20-mil thick material like a pool liner. It is manufactured in 7 layers, a blend of high-density and low-density polyethylene with 2 layers of polyester cord reinforcement. It is made with an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh molded right into the material. This liner completely and permanently isolates your home from the earth. This dramatically reduces the humidity in the air. Combined with the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier removing even more humidity, mold doesn't stand a chance! The SaniDry Sedona is the most powerful dehumidifier in the world for its size. After the CleanSpace Liner is installed, the crew installed the dehumidifier and set up the drain line. The crew cleaned up their mess and said their goodbyes to the homeowners.
The smell of mold is gone, and they never have to worry about it again. The home is now a healthier environment, and more structurally sound.
