Alicia S. in Gibsonton, FL, noticed her back patio chimney was separating from the house while planning to paint her home. Concerned about the issue, she contacted LRE Foundation Repair for an inspection. Our Design Specialist identified soil settlement as the culprit behind the detachment. To address this, we devised a plan to stabilize the chimney's foundation using galvanized steel helical piers. These piers were mechanically driven into the ground to stabilize the loose soil and lift the foundation. Our team successfully installed these piers around the chimney, discreetly burying them underground, leaving no visible trace of the work. Now, Alicia can confidently move forward with painting her home, knowing her chimney is secure.

Natalia I. has lived in her old St. Petersburg, Florida home for years and was experiencing settlement to her foundation with visible damage to the exterior brick walls. She wanted to make sure there were no other underlying problems with the home, so she called LRE Foundation Repair to find out. LRE completed an inspection and determined shifting and unstable soil conditions plagued this home and designed a solution that consisted of helical pier installation around the exterior, coupled with PolyLevel injection. Helical piers are galvanized steel tubes that are drilled into the soil and affixed to the home with metal brackets. The piers were able to gently lift the side of the home to stabilize and relevel the structure. Next, PolyLevel, an expandable polyurethane material, was injected into the soils to compact them and fill in any possible voids. These two systems are often used to work together to stabilize foundations for years to come. This homeowner was not only happy with the end result and finished project, but relieved to not have to worry about her home anymore.
Linda of Saint Petersburg, Florida, had observed an unstable section of her home's floor as she walked across it, and it appeared that the problem had worsened over time. Worried the floorboards may break through at some point, she asked LRE Foundation Repair to inspect her crawl space. An LRE Design Specialist discovered that the block piers supporting the floor joists in the crawl space showed signs of settling, thereby weakening the support for the affected section. The LRE team installed the SmartJack system in the crawl space to permanently stabilize the affected section of the home’s floor, alleviating Linda’s concerns. She can now have peace of mind, knowing that her floors are safe and secure.
