This customer was having issues with mold in the basement due to water entering the basement whenever it would rain.
We went out to the property and did some Mold X 2 treatment on the areas that had mold, then installed Waterguard around the full perimeter of the basement, we installed a SuperSump with Battery Backup and a SaniDry Dehumidifier
This Thorndale PA customer reached out to Basement Systems USA because they were in the market for a new sump pump with a battery backup. We came out to his home and upgraded him to a SuperSump with an UltraSump Battery Backup. The SuperSump quietly pumps 2,650 gallons per hour and in case of a power outage, the UltraSump will turn on automatically and will alarm to tell you you are running on the backup. The UltraSump will pump 12,000 total gallons out on a new, fully charged power pack.
This customer was looking for help rescuing his damp, moldy crawlspace. We started the transformation by removing all of the old insulation. We installed a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system and our SuperSump sump pump to carry away any water intrusion. Then we went in and treated the entire area for mold with our Mold X2 cleaner and botanical. We replaced the old insulation with SilverGlo insulated panels and RimTight spray foam and then lined the entire area with our Cleanspace drainage matting and Cleanspace vapor barrier.
SaniDry XP Dehumidifier install to keep humidity at a minimum in unfinished basement
This heavy retaining wall in Downington PA was bowing and tipping over, and we knew that Basement Systems’ GeoLock Wall Anchors were the best solution for the problem.
When the GeoLock system is installed, a hole is drilled into the bowing wall in predetermined intervals, depending on the number of anchors needed. One anchor plate is then attached to the interior and exterior sides of the wall, lining up with the predrilled hole, and one end of a 9-foot galvanized threaded rod is then inserted through the hole and anchor plates until the rod protrudes slightly out of the interior wall. An anchor bolt is then screwed onto that protruding end. The other end of the rod attaches to a heavy duty earth anchor, which gets embedded into firm, stable soil away from the foundation. Once everything is in place, the anchor bolt is tightened, and the reverse pressure pulls the wall back toward its original position. At this point, the wall is stabilized and secure and no further adjustment is necessary. However, gradual tightening of the anchor bolt will continue to adjust the wall and over time, may even straighten it completely. This home in Elkton needed 10 anchors to repair the wall, and we were able to straighten it completely in one day. The GeoLock wall anchors are guaranteed for a period of 25 years.
