Comment: We have an issue with water penetrating through one corner of the basement wall. The issue is not constant and typically only occurs during severe rainstorms, after prolonged rain events and occasionally because of a spring rain before a full thaw. The corner is particularly susceptible because it is an inside corner that is below a large valley on the roof. Gutters have not completely alleviated the problem. There does not appear to be any structural damage, no bowed sections of the wall, etc. I believe what is necessary is for the exterior of the wall to be waterproofed and a tile or other sort of drain to be installed. The house is an old house with block walls in the city (no sump). We do not have a water issue in any other part of the basement. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
