I have water seeping into my basement on one half of the basement closest to my neighbors driveway. Its ruining the wall and the carpet and I'm concerned about mold growing. Just bought a home, cinderblock foundation on the side of a hill, beams were added to brace the walls which were bowing in, paint on the walls is bubbling up and coming off. I have water coming into my basement when heavy raining. The water doesn't always come in when raining. I repaired a drill hole through the basement floor and that helped alittle. The basement only leaks on the north basement wall. Poured foundation. I can't quite figure out where the water comes from. We tried to get our landscaping to get the water away from the house. They're a few houses down our street with water problems in our basements.

Odor coming from our basement. We discovered soft/ moist spots in areas of our wall paneling. We tore back a couple areas and discovered this is where the odor was coming from. The paneling was moist on the inside as well as the cement wall underneath. I imagine we'd need all the paneling torn off ( which we can do ourselves to save money on labor) and get a protectant on our cement walls. We also need to get to the source of where the water is coming from. Most likely the window(s). After repairs our done, we don't need new paneling up. We aren't too concerned with appearance down there. House built in 1925. We've only lived here since last January. Inspector didn't see any signs of water at the time ( everything still cold/ frozen)
