Old Barn With a Failing Foundation in Saint Libory, NE

Julie had a barn on her property that had been empty for several years. But she is now ready to fill it with livestock. Unfortunately, she had noticed the northwest corner of the barn was not looking good. Before letting her livestock call this barn home, it was important to her to make the necessary repairs first.

System Design Specialist, Brock Scott, visited the property to get to the root of the problem. He found that the building had a 4 part foundation wall that consisted of footing, a pit wall, a slab on top of the pit wall, and a concrete wall going around the perimeter. The northwest corner was falling away from the rest of the building and was suffering settlement damage. The weight of the concrete on the wall was causing it to break.

To stabilize the settlement, we used helical piers. Helical piers are giant metal screws driven into the soil to stabilize and repair a foundation or lift lighter structures. We then used a carbon armor strap to keep the corner attached to the barn.

Julie was so happy with the completed work and liked how we explained everything to her and informed her of any changes to the original plan.

The EverBrace Wall Restoration System

Your home's foundation is the rock. And when signs of trouble start to show, it's time to take action, Maybe your stone, clay block, or brick foundation walls have begun to show unsettling signs of failure - bulging, bowing, cracking or even crumbling. Or perhaps your poured concrete or block walls are barely hanging on and about to cave in. That's where the EverBrace Wall Restoration System steps in.

The EverBrace system is an innovative approach that targets these issues head-on, providing a much-needed solution to foundation damage. Steel corrugated panels, and steel I-beams come together to reinforce your existing foundation structure. On top of that, a specialized rigid foam is injected behind the panels, filling every void between the existing wall and the panels.

This system serves a huge purpose - transferring the load of the failing wall to the new support system. It's like a breath of fresh air for your foundation. One of the most remarkable aspects of the EverBrace System is its a great alternative to total foundation replacement. Yep, that's right. Instead of ripping out your entire foundation and dealing with the expenses and disruption that comes with that, the EverBrace System stabilizes your walls like new. With EverBrace, you're not just saving your foundation. You're preserving your peace of mind. Your home is safe, and therefore so is your family.

Humid Crawl Space in Hutchinson, KS

This customer reached out to us because an inspector told him he needed to have his crawlspace looked at when he purchased the house.

When we came out to do an inspection, we found the humidity levels were extremely high due to the exposed soil in his crawlspace. The soil was allowing water vapor to release into the organic wood material in the flooring system above.

To fix this, we installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to protect the crawlspace from releasing moisture and reaching the floors. The vapor barrier isolates the home from the earth, providing a layer of protection for moisture and undesirable humidity that comes with it.

Home in Hastings, NE Foundation Repaired and Waterproofed

One of the walls in Mike M.’s laundry room wasn’t doing so well. He was growing concerned about it because water was seeping through. Since he uses the space, he wanted to seek out a long-term fix that would allow the space to be usable. As a returning customer, he knew Thrasher could provide the solution he needed.

Service Technician Christian Hodson arrived at Mike’s home to see what we could do. Christian was able to identify that one of the walls was deflecting and was in stage 2. We installed PowerBraces, permanently stabilizing the wall. Also, to prevent water from entering again, the area was waterproofed with WaterGuard.

Back Patio, Foundation Wall and Driveway Repaired in Hastings, NE

New homeowners Alex and Rachel H. were looking to fix their concrete patio and make sure the necessary repairs were done, to prevent any future problems for their home. Ready to start spending time on their back patio, they decided to give Thrasher a call to learn more about our concrete repair solutions.

System Design Specialist Shane McClintic went out to Alex and Rachel’s home. During his inspection, he found the patio was setting toward and against the back foundation wall. This was causing the concrete to be uneven and crack. Water was also draining towards the foundation. The concrete was also putting a lot of added weight against the foundation wall. From the weight of the soil and pressure from the concrete, the foundation wall was starting to bow in. Shane also identified the crack on the front of their driveway was from street creep.

The crew installed channel anchors to stabilize the foundation wall. Then the patio was lifted and sealed with PolyLevel and NexusPro Joint Sealant to close up the joints and cracks, also making the whole area level again. To help the front driveway, CompressionGuard was also installed to prevent street creep from expanding their driveway. Alex and Rachel were thrilled with the end result and extremely pleased with the knowledge of the crew.
