This building fell victim to soil settlement. To permanently stabilize the structure, we installed our Foundation Push Pier System. This system works by transferring the weight of the building to solid ground through the pier system.
From years of pressure, exerted from the dirt behind the block wall, the mortar lines started to crack, and the wall bowed. This problem is very commonplace for older block walls in wet areas, and it is also very solvable. We installed CarbonArmor strips along the wall which creates a tough elastic support that is more than strong enough to counter the pressure coming from behind the wall and keeps the wall supported in the future.
Foundation walls can buckle due to soil pressure, water saturation, poor construction, or settling of the ground beneath the foundation. The wall develops cracks, bows inward, or shifts out of alignment, compromising its structural integrity. The CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcement System repairs the problem by applying high-strength carbon fiber straps to the wall, which distribute the load and prevent further buckling or movement, effectively stabilizing the foundation.
