The gentleman the installed the drainage system in my basement made a couple of choices that were frustrating to my contractor on site and to me. I had fresh concrete poured a couple of days prior in the bathroom. The plumbing coming out of the floor for the bath tub had been boxed out such that the concrete would not surround the plumbing. Your installer removed the concrete, installed the drainage system, and poured new concrete without keeping it away from the plumbing in the same manner. My contractor on site was very frustrated by this. He could plainly see it had been done that way for a reason. Why he would not return it in the same manner was discourteous and has cost me time and money. My contractor had to then chip away his concrete to adjust the plumbing. He was there the whole time. Your installer could has simply asked him about it, my contractor would have happily created the box for him. He did not ask or even consider it as an option. Secondly, I don't claim to be an expert on this but my thought was that the "trough" would have a bit of a slope to the drain, to ensure the water would in fact run towards the drain. When I commented on that my contractor said the installer was not intending to do any slope and he had to ask him to do so. The gentleman that came out to give the quote, whom I spoke to on the phone, seemed very knowledgable and helpful (Steve). The installer was not to the same level of satisfaction. He has cost me time and money.
I am very happy with the result. The time line was longer than expected, and the cost was more,...
