Comment: Hello Basement Systems, We are experiencing some water accumulation and damp, musty smells in our basement, with white, fluffy efflorescence coming out of the walls and some crumbly erosion of the cement. It is particularly concerning at one corner of the foundation but appears to be a problem throughout the basement. The cement floor is crumbling and water may be seeping up through it in places. Our house was built in 1931 in the West End of Halifax, NS. We are concerned about the health effects and long term structural integrity of this basement. Please contact us about an inspection and options for remediation of these issues. Thanks, -Eric
