Mark N. inherited his Columbia, SC home several years ago and has since rented it to a wonderful tenant. Mark wanted to rent to provide an extra income for his family. The tenant, Pam, was good about calling if something was wrong and Mark was happy to help. One day, Mark got a call that his tenant had fallen because of the dip in the kitchen. Mark had been meaning to get someone out to look at it and this was all the more reason. He did a search online and found Cantey Foundation Specialists. He scheduled an appointment to meet a representative at his rental home to see what could be done about the floor. System Design Specialist Richard Early came out and thoroughly inspected the floor and underneath in the crawl space. Richard found that an old refrigerator leak had caused the wood to rot under that section of the kitchen. Richard suggested having Cantey support the beams as well as replace the subfloor. Mark agreed that the work needed to be taken care of and he trusted Cantey to do the job right. Production Crew Leader Oscar Mota, Production Crew Member Nick Riddick, and Production Crew Member Ryan McAlister came out and effectively replaced and supported the floor. Mark no longer worries about his tenant and is thankful that he found Cantey.
Tim O. of Columbia, SC had musty smells wafting through the vents up into his home; worried that there were major issues with the crawl space, Tim called Cantey Foundation Specialists for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Eddie Mathis found mold throughout the beams in the crawl space, and he had the perfect solution: our MoldX treatment and the CleanSpace system. With the installation of a dehumidifier, vapor barrier, and sump pump, moisture issues would be a problem of the past.
Richard W. has lived in his Columbia, SC since he was married long ago. His wife passed away a few years ago and ever since he has continuously been making improvements to his home in the hopes to leave it to his children one day. Richard was always a handyman and often does most of the fixing himself, however, when it comes to his crawl space he just cannot get into it. He knew that his kitchen floor was sloping and probably needed better stabilization. On the way to the grocery store, he heard a radio commercial for Cantey Foundation Specialists. He called in and was scheduled for an appointment with System Design Specialist Jason Hugg. When Jason arrived, he began his inspection and found that the best solution for Richard would be Cantey's SmartJack system. The installation would start by removing sections of soil where the tightly compacted crushed stone would fill to create a stable base for the footing to be placed on top. A steel beam that would be specifically cut to fit Richard's crawl space would then be placed on top of the footing and attached to the top of the crawl space. These steel beams or SmartJacks could then be adjusted to lift the kitchen floor to its proper position. Production Team Leader Trey Dukes, Production Team Member Estevan Lopez, and Production Team Member Brooks Walker came out and successfully installed the SmartJack system. Richard is pleased that he finally found a company that he could trust to get the job done right the first time.
Mike B. just moved into a beautiful home in Columbia, SC with his wife and two young girls. He always dreamed of being able to have a big home for his family and could finally make that a reality. Of course, he wanted to take the best care of his home so when he felt that the floor was a little bouncy by the front door, he wanted someone to check it out. He saw a commercial for Cantey Foundation Specialists while watching the news one morning and decided to give them a call. System Design Specialist Jamie Beresford came out and did a thorough inspection of the crawl space. He found that under the problem area, there was rotten wood causing the floor to be bouncy. Jamie explained that Cantey could go in an replace the wood within a day. Mike was pleased that this issue could be resolved so quickly and scheduled the installation. Production Crew Leader Estevan Lopez, Production Crew Member Jonathan Whitaker, and Production Crew Member Phillip Sullivan came out and effectively replaced the rotten wood. Mike no longer has to worry about the state of his family home and can just enjoy spending time with his family in his dream home.
After the recent rains throughout South Carolina, Phillip H. of Darlington was worried about his damp crawlspace. Although it wasn't completely flooded, Phillip's crawlspace had pooling water, which eventually brought mold problems. Cantey Foundation Specialists knew what to do! After spraying for mold and installing two sump pumps to insure that future rains would not pool any more water, Cantey encapsulated the whole crawlspace so that moisture, dirt, and living organisms would not appear. We were happy to find the solution to Phillip's problems!
