This home owner in Alexandria Virginia called us looking for help with their home. Our certified home performance sales pro, Jason, visited to do a free inspection looking to design a project that would help. Our production team removed the old insulation from the crawl space before installing a moisture barrier and Clean Space along with using spray foam insulation on the walls and rim joinsts of the crawl space. This will all help create a more controlled environment inside the home along with improved air quality.
This home in Boyce VA had a large crawl space that had been treated with old school, traditional methods to address water and moisture issues. The old methods of installing a layer of plastic covering the floor and some insulation on the walls did not work. The homeowner was experiencing a musty smell in the crawl space which was noticeable in the living area of the home above. Our Sales Pro Stephen inspected the home and identified a solution. Installing Terra Block matting on the dirt floor, covered by a layer of Clean Space was what did the trick. Silver Glo insulation panels were used for the walls of the crawl space. This helped to control the moisture and water in the crawl space and improved the air quality in the home above.
This crawl space in Madison VA was fully encapsulated inside with a moisture barrier, vapor barrier, dehumidifier and spray foam insulation. All of the vents we covered and sealed along with the vent that had been part of the original crawl space door. We replaced this piece of plywood which was damaged and old and had allowed rodents to get inside with a new, Everlast Door. The Everlast Door is air tight and will never degrade.
This unfinished basement in Berryville VA had wet floors throughout most of the space including an attached crawl space. The existing sump pump wasn't placed correctly so water was building up all around the dirt floors making mud and wet spots. The water was coming in through the walls and under the foundation whenever it rained and the basement was too humid and smelled musty. Our production crew laid down Terra Block and drainage matting to cover and seal in the dirt floors, allowing air to flow beneath and the water to keep from collecting anywhere in the basement. Clean Space was used to cover it all and to wrap the foundation piers and lower parts of the wall. This created a proper moisture barrier and kept the musty smell from being able to develop further.
This home in Upperville Virginia had a nasty crawl space. It was musty smelling and had mold present in the old insulation and around the crawl space ceiling. Our Certified Home Performance Sales Pro Eric was able to design a plan using the right products to help keep the unwanted water and moisture in the crawl space contained and to help improve the air quality in the home. The floors were insulated and covered with drainage matting and a vapor barrier. The support piers in the crawl space were sealed and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to remove moisture from the air. This will all help keep the crawl space drier, make the home more comfortable, and improve the air quality in the home.
