The homeowner is looking to have his crawlspace encapsulated and closed off from the outside so that it can stay a dry and healthy area. All of the humidity and the uncleanliness of the space is what ultimately drew the homeowner to give us a call.
Our team went out to take a look and found that we would be able to encapsulate the area with ease. We also recommended adding supplemental beam and smartjacks in order to keep the integrity of the area stable. On top of that, we added a proper entrance to the space so it can be accessed easily. Lastly, we used our spray insulation to close off the area and keep it insulated from the outside.
In these pictures you can see the open foundation vent is sealed (not just closed). Even when you close a vent, it still leaks air like a sieve. Also you can see the CleanSpace vapor barrier covers the crawlspace walls and floor. DryZone has a policy of leaving the top 4 inches exposed to allow for a termite inspection. Very clean, very dry, very healthy crawlspace.
