Most older homes that have sump pumps installed in the basement need updated equipment. The old pumps are either broken or aren't strong enough. Many times the hole itself isn't large enough and actually contributes to the sump pump getting over used. DryZone uses a much larger sump pit than the average home currently has. The container is sealed so the smells and water vapor won't escape. Since the container is bigger, the pump takes longer to turn on and pumps out more water in one cycle. Short cycling, when the pump turns on and off in a small amount of time, will destroy a sump pump.
Another happy homeowner in Magnolia, Delaware. They had water coming in around the basement door and their existing sump system could not keep up during a light rain. DryZone installed a TripleSafe sump system, WaterGuard for the perimeter drainage system and TrenchDrain around the door. Now they have a dry basement.
You wouldn't think your little old windows in your basement would cause a problem, but for this homeowner they did! With EverLast windows and SunHouse Basement window enclosures installed, weeds won't grow in and water will stay out!
Increased moisture can cause effervescence on brick and poured basement walls. Insulating and protecting your basement with CleanSpace can protect your home from mold and moisture damage.
Bare concrete basement walls can be very porous and hold moisture from groundwater. After adding waterproof walls, a french drain was added to guide water to a nearby sump pump.
