A very old home in Georgetown, DE had multiple concrete piers failing. The SmartJack system was installed to replace the old piers and ultimately corrected the bouncy floors.

This home in Sussex County Delaware is well over 100 years old, as are many homes in the historical towns in lower Delaware. It is a wonderful home above ground and the owners have even been making improvements over the years. When they finished installing the geothermal heating lines, they went down to inspect the work and saw a wet and smelly cellar. This lead them to add the crawlspace and cellar as the next repair on their list. Both husband and wife had been annoyed with the springy floors in the living room and new that something had to be out of the ordinary down there. Once they saw the inspector's photos and solutions, they were excited to get the floors fixed properly. Several SmartJacks were installed to replace the old concrete pillars, many of which had completely fallen over. Everyone has tripped on a broken on uneven sidewalk at some point in their life. Most of you might recall a time in your childhood when you were running while playing and fell and skinned your knee after tripping on a bump in the sidewalk.

When this Cambridge homeowner came to us for help, this was exactly the type of thing he was trying to avoid. The sidewalk in front of his house was sinking over an inch in one spot. A thick mixture of grout and concrete are pumped under the slab through a few small holes that the crew drills beforehand. Once everything is cleaned up, the sidewalk is good as new and back to being level with the rest of the slabs. Now it is no longer a major tripping hazard.

This home was in need of structural repairs due to wood rot caused by moisture and mold. After Smart Jacks installation, their home is now stable.
