A homeowner in Owensboro, KY reached out about a concern about mold growing in the crawl space. When mold spores find the right combination of temperature, food source, and moisture, they will start to grow. When mold grows, it reproduces more airborne seeds to grow more mold. Just like a dandelion seed, mold seeds are like tiny parachutes that float through the air. Ending the mold spore cycle will protect the homeowner in the future.
To give the homeowner a sense of security, mold remediation was performed throughout the crawl space. Every nick and cranny where mold was seen, was scrubbed and sprayed away. To protect the crawl space from any outside air leaks or water, CleanSpace was laid throughout the ground and sides of the crawl space. A SaniDry Sedona was hooked up to create a dry air flow since mold can thrive in 70% to 90% humidity. Once the mold is controlled and prevented, the homeowner will have peace of mind knowing that their health is not at risk.
In Marion, Ky, a homeowner was interested in purchasing a vapor barrier and insulation for their crawl space. Without a vapor barrier, mold and water could damage the crawl space. Whenever there is a vapor barrier, it will protect the environment of the crawl space by keeping all gaps or air from entering the space. The key to a healthy crawl space is to make it dry! The reason for making a crawl space dry is because mold spores and water will not be able to thrive in their type of environment. A bright white liner called CleanSpace, never fails to save the day! Before the CleanSpace is installed, a brown dimple matting is laid throughout the space to create extra support for the CleanSpace but also direct water to the sump pump. Clean Space was used to cover the entire floor and sides of the space to create an "indoor" atmosphere. A dehumidifier called the SaniDry Sedona effectively creates a dry airflow 24/7. A SmartSump Pump system is installed to remove any water entering the crawl space. The homeowner was pleasantly satisfied with a functional system set in place to continuously create a healthy environment.
In Newburgh, IN, a family wished to have an access well to the crawl space that was located outside their home. The old entryway was not insulated, causing any weather conditions outside, to enter the crawl space. If one of the family members needed to enter the crawl space from the outside, it was a bit difficult due to the tight entryway. If your crawl space entrance is below the ground outside, it likely lets in air and collects water and debris, but this can be fixed!
The Turtl access well combines a secure crawl space door and access that has no leaky joints. Since it is made from rigid plastic, the Turtl will never rot or corrode. An added benefit of the Turtl is that it is secure and lockable. The Turtl is clean and dry, secure and lockable, and looks great from the outside. Once the Turtl access well is installed for the family, it will provide accessibility and security for the home.
A generous amount of water was seeping into the crawl space from the outside in Mount Carmel, IL. The water had caused mold to form due to the humid climate. If the material is organic, dead, and wet, mold knows to eat it and since the crawl space is made of organic materials that are also wet, it causes the crawl space to be infested with mold. It is common to see heavy rain on the radar during the springtime, while in the summer, the weather can be relatively dry. Once the dry season approaches, it gets humid in the crawl space, causing the water that seeped into the crawl space to form mold. Mold released airborne spores, which are so light they float on the slightest air currents, off to find more suitable places to grow.
A vapor barrier is the best solution for this type of problem. To create the best functioning vapor barrier, CleanSpace is installed throughout the space, to seal off air from leaking into the crawl space. A sump pump was installed to pump away access water 24/7 that would enter the space from the ground. A corner of the crawl space was closed off to prevent water from leaking since there was suspicion that that was where the main water was coming in through. It relieved the homeowner to find the crawl space dry and easily accessible!
In Evansville, IN, a homeowner wanted to create additional space in their home by transforming the basement into a hangout room. As the homeowner was inspecting her basement in hopes of transforming the place, she stumbled upon water leakage. There was water coming through the concrete block walls and keeping the ground wet. The water leakage was due to a foundation settlement happening outside the home. Water flows downhill, and since the soil has settled, the soil has a slight dip formation causing water to flow towards and inside the basement. To achieve a finished basement, the homeowner's wish is for us to waterproof the basement.
To waterproof the basement, CleanSpace is installed on the walls of the basement. CleanSpace is a 20mil liner that protects the vapor barrier. Any water that enters the basement will be stopped by the liner and will flow down to the WaterGuard system that is installed on the floor beside the walls. Once the water reaches the WaterGuard it will enter the UltraSump pump. The UltraSump pump pumps away the water outdoors. This is an effective system that will take care of water leakage and provide satisfaction for the homeowner.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
