Most crawlspaces have an entry like this. A large open space that allows all sorts of undesirable stuff inside--critters, moisture, mold, and more. The solution that commonly occurs is haphazard at best. Plywood covering the entrance quickly warps and molds. Leaving the entrance uncovered is an invitation for an infestation. Blocking the entrance permenantly isn't possible either.
The team at Healthy Spaces installed an Everlast Crawlspace Door, which is constructed of rigid, durable plastic that won't discolor, warp, or mold. It sits flush to the entrance, which prevents water intrusion. In addition to the Everlast door, the team installed a new access well, which will further protect the crawlspace from entryway flooding.
This Newburgh, IN home was experiencing regular crawlspace flooding due to the high water table in the area. The homeowners knew that simply installing a vapor barrier was not sufficient--they had two previous vapor barriers fail. They also needed a state of the art, energy efficient, durable sump pump system to remove ground water from below the vapor barrier.
The homeowners met with Healthy Spaces to discuss having their crawlspace encapsulated and waterproofed. The most efficient sump pump for their needs was a SuperSump--a Zoeller sump pump with some very important features contributing to its longevity. For example, the SuperSump has an airtight lid that will isolate the encapsulated crawlspace from the water in the sump basket. There is also a WaterWatch alarm in the sump pump lid, which will alert the homeowners if the pump becomes overwhelmed.
Newburgh, IN resident Scot D. was troubled by his wet crawl space. Water leaked in and caused a moldy, musty environment. The mold risked the integrity and health of his home. He did previously have a vapor barrier, but it obviously wasn't doing its job.
Healthy Spaces installed the CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it keeps water out without supporting mold growth.
Scott is thrilled with this new space.
Water and faulty discharge lines never lead to anything good. This homeowner noticed his crawl space was in seriously bad shape after flooding and never draining properly took its tole. Design Specialist, Jimmy Schaefer, took a thorough look and quickly came to a conclusion..the crawlspace was in need of encapsulation and a SmartSump pump system. EZ Flow drain and Ice guard also needed to be implemented to control any flooding and excess water
SmartSump pump system was installed which included a cast iron pump, airtight lid and floordrain. This also came with a WaterWatch alarm system which works to emit very loud sounds if it is overfilled. The EZ Flow drain and discharge line were fashioned around the perimeters to control any excess water and displace it away from the crawlspace. CleanSpace Drainage matting was placed to ensure space for water underneath and to avoid any puncture damage to the encapsulation. Finally, the SaniDry Sedona was placed to reduce humidity and the rest of the basement was sealed efficiently with foam insulation in any cracks or holes.
Richard G. from Utica, KY was having water issues in his home. Granted, his home was over 100 years old. It was built in 1904 and the water issues were just getting worse as time went on. One of his friends had used our services and recommended us. Richard picked up the phone and scheduled a free inspection.
System Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, did a thorough inspection of Richard's basement and pinpointed the problems he saw. Richard agreed to the plan that Damon had come up with, and our production team did the rest. A WaterGuard system was installed to run any intruding water straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump. The water would then run outside from the discharge lines of the sump pump. A CleanSpace vapor is a heavy, durable, plastic liner that provides a vapor barrier while also draining water behind it and dramatically brightens the basement.
