This homeowner was having problems with water getting in their basement. She wanted to refinish her basement as an entertainment space for her kids, however she needed to have a dry basement in order to do that. After looking for solutions that would help her create a safe space for her renovation, she gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Jordan Mullen to inspect the basement and determine what was causing the water problems as well as suggest custom solutions for her basement. Jordan found that water was coming through the south wall of the home and leaking through the concrete blocks, which formed puddles of water along the perimeter of the basement. He also noticed that the water had weakened the wall structure, causing stage 2 wall failure. The homeowner was quite concerned about these issues and for the safety of her home, so she discussed solutions custom to her home with Jordan.
We sent an installation team out to install Geo-Lock Anchors on the south wall of the home and PowerBraces on the west wall of the home. These solutions help to stabilize the walls and move them back to their original positions over time. After fixing the wall troubles, our team started to work on waterproofing the walls to prevent any further damage. Our team used the WaterGuard Interior Drainage System and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier along the south and east walls of the home. Finally, our team installed a new Sump Pump in order to keep water pumping out of the basement.
The homeowner was extremely happy with the work that was done. She even emailed Jordan to tell him that she recommended our services to her friends. With a little bit of help, this homeowner can now renovate her basement for her children without worrying for their safety. In this homeowner's basement, the builders used a 4x4 support beam to hold the weight of the home. Underneath this support beam was a supporting post that was knocked over to the point in which the support beam had no additional support structure. The homeowner saw this and was immediately concerned that her home would have many problems because of it, so she decided to give us a call.
We had System Design Specialist Ryan Allen go to inspect the basement's support structure and determine what support structure would best replace the failed support post. Ryan discussed the severity of the situation with the homeowner, and they came to the conclusion to have this installed and completed as quickly as possible, so Ryan called one of our installation teams. Our team installed a SmartJack post to provide the proper support that the home's support beam needed. The homeowner was relieved that her problem was solved. This homeowner previously had wall support serviced by us, and she wanted to improve the support in her basement once again. She was getting her floors redone upstairs, but she was afraid that the floors had began to sag over the years in her home. She wanted her floors to be level and secure for when she redid them, so she gave us a call for addition support in her basement.
We had our Service Technician Joe Rebik inspect the floors to and determine where additional support was needed. Joe found that there was no support for the flooring, only the wall supports that one of our teams had installed previously. This would be concerning, however the homeowner found the problem before anything worse could have happened. She wanted Joe to fix this problem quickly, so Joe set up another installation appointment for the homeowner. Soon, our installation team came out and installed 2 supplemental beams as well as 4 SmartJacks to lift and stabilize the floors.
The homeowner was happy to have solid floors to walk on now. She is so excited to start remodeling her floors soon. Check out her newly supported floors!
These customers wanted to make sure that the basement was well supported because they hold many gatherings here. The floors in that part of the house had been sagging for a while because there isn't enough structural support. To fix this, we installed footings, smartjacks, and a supplemental beam to provide the necessary support.
There was a big gap between the driveway and home and our customer was concerned water was getting in there. He does not want water going down the side of the foundation wall. To help, Midwest cleaned the wall gap out, put a backer rod in the gap, and sealed it with NexusPro to ensure water wouldn’t seep in anymore.
