Our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems provided a free estimate on repairs and began work on solving this problem for the homeowner as soon as our crew was available. The culprit for this moisture damage was a crack in the foundation hidden behind the drywall. To cover this crack for good, a FlexiSpan seal was applied. This three-layer seal will completely lock out moisture, preventing any future leaks through this crack. Next, to handle any moisture that may gather on this floor through other sources, a SmartSump pump was installed in the basement floor. Finally, ThermalDry flooring was installed to provide a soft, insulated surface across the basement floor. These panels have built-in channels below them to guide any water to the sump for removal before it has a chance to build up and becoming a problem.

The homeowner was concerned by the consistent build-up of water around their furnace and other areas of their basement. They wished to have a dry basement all the time, so with the help of System Design Specialist, Daryl Quinn and a TC Hafford production team, their problem has been permanently fixed.

Looking for a way to prevent future leakages in their basement, this homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. We set them up with a free estimate and they soon gave us the go ahead to begin work on their basement. Our installation crew began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter in order to allow for WaterGuard piping to be buried surrounding the floor. Hidden below a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard will capture any moisture leaking in through the foundation in the future. This water is guided to the TripleSafe sump pump also installed within the floor. The TripleSafe system contains three pumps, two pumps for bulk water removal and one battery-operated pump for when the home is without power. The TripleSafe will force any collected water out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Equipped with IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments, this discharge line is protected against ice build-up and debris blockages.

Now any moisture entering this basement through the foundation will flow through the WaterGuard piping directly into the TripleSafe pump for removal. This homeowner can now utilize their basement without needing to fear water-damage in the future!

When one of the walls in their basement began to bow and crack, this Fayette, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve the problem before it got worse! We set them up with a free estimate where our sales representative was able to explain to the homeowner, in detail, just how we could seal these cracks and prevent more cracks from forming in the future. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on sealing the cracks right away. To install FlexiSpan seals over each crack, a primary layer of sealant was first applied within the cracks. A thin foam pad was laid along the cracks over the first layer of sealant. To finish the seal, a second layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam core, creating FlexiSpan seals covering each crack. These seals benefit from the foam core by being able to contort to any slight changes in the wall, maintaining their water-tight seal. Next, to prevent future bowing of the wall, PowerBrace beams were attached to the floor and spaced out along the problem-wall. These beams were then tightened against the wall using their adjustable fixtures anchored to the joists above the basement.
