This was a repeat customer of ours, we had previously installed a sump pump in the customers basement and then a few years after, water started to appear in a different section. After further investigation it was apparent that there were small hairline cracks on the foundation wall that were allowing water to enter the basement when it would rain.
First, we had to take care of those hairline cracks so we installed FlexiSpan. FlexiSpan seals cracks with a flexible urethane sealant that will stop water penetration. FlexiSpan is flexible and moves with the wall which eliminates re-cracking on the wall.
For this basement repair we had to install 2 PowerBraces. PowerBraces were needed due to the fact that one part of the foundation wall was bowing inward and we needed to stop that forward movement.
This customer had a slight bow in their block foundation which caused a horizontal crack to develop. We sent our inspector Keith Miller out to the property and the best solution for this customer scenario was to install our Carbon Armor straps with Armor Locks.
The Carbon Armor Wall Stabilization system works by fusing our Carbon Armor Straps to ArmorLock strips that are anchored to heavy steel brackets that are attached to the rim joist. This system will immediately stabilize your foundation wall and stop any further inward movement.
Pressure of soil pushing up against the foundation wall, Hydrostatic pressure or Foundation Settlement are only a few reasons why a foundation wall could be bowing or cracking, either way, you want to get this looked at as soon as you can so the issue doesn't continue and possibly worsen over time.
For this customer, we have done several projects for them, Egress install, waterproofing and now foundation repair. This repair required 4 Carbon Armor Strips and 10, 8' Power Braces.
The initial call for this property was basement flooring, they already had a waterproofing system and no active leaks, just wanted to get some flooring installed. When we arrived at the property ready to provide an estimate for flooring, the inspector did notice a few issues. There was a horizontal crack going along one side of the block foundation which left unattended for too long could turn in to a costly issue, the basement walls were showing mold growth and the current windows and window wells, had seen better days.
The customer took the inspectors recommendations and not only upgraded the window and wells, but also wanted to move forward on the significant wall crack. To repair the wall and stop it from bowing or cracking any further, we installed our Carbon Armor Wall Stabilization Straps which, come with a 25year warranty against manufacturing defects and against further bowing.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
