Large Crawl Space in Belle Plaine, KS is Revived with SmartJacks

LeAnna and Rodney R. wanted to preserve the home that her dad built. There were humps and valleys in the floor. They were worried the floor wouldn't support the weight of everything. They had already done work to try and fix this, but nothing seemed to work.

LeAnna and Rodeney called Thrasher and our System Design Special, Sean Robinson, evaluated the problem. We installed 18 SmartJacks along the full spans of both main beams (9 on each beam).  We also installed a 20' supplemental beam and 4 SmartJacks under the bathroom and LeAnna's scrapbooking room, where she has a lot of heavy furniture and full bookcases.  All this allowed us to even out and level the floor through the full span of the house. We also encapsulated the crawl space and installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to get moisture and humidity under control, in order to preserve the flooring system and floor support.

Crawl Space support with CleanSpace Belle Plaine, KS

Jason wanted his home to be properly supported so that the continued damage and bowing in his floors would stop. Without proper support in this crawlspace, Jason was seeing the effects of cracks in his newly remodeled home. Due to minimal support in his crawlspace the floors began to sag and crack the tiles on the main level. With SmartJacks, supplemental beams, and CleanSpace throughout the crawlspace, the floors were able to be fully supported. Jason was extremely happy with the work done, and can now sleep better at night knowing his crawlspace is fully supported.

Crawl Space Moisture Control in Neligh, NE

Mary was tired of dealing with a wet and musty smell in Neligh, NE home. She noticed that the floors had also become squeaky and bouncy. She started looking for solutions for crawl space moisture control and came across our work.

System Design Specialist Jesse White went out to Mary’s home and explained the high moisture levels in the crawl space were causing problems with the smell and flooring. After going through solutions, Mary felt confident that we could help. The crew encapsulated the entire crawl space with CleanSpace. We also put drainage matting down to keep the ground moisture separate from the structure. Mary was more than satisfied with our work and glad to have a dry crawl space!

Strong Storm Tests a Sump Pump in Paradise, KS

This homeowner wanted to ensure that his crawlspace continues to stay dry even after the strong storms that had been happening. He started using a different company to help his crawlspace, however when they were no longer servicing him, he gave us a call.

We sent Service Technician Brad Metzger to inspect the crawlspace to see if anything would prevent it from staying dry. Brad found that due to the big storms, 2 of the homeowner's 4 sump pumps were no longer functioning and that the power in the crawlspace no longer worked. The battery backup power on the homeowner's sump pumps was also out of function. Brad knew that due to the size of the crawlspace, the homeowner needed at least 4 sump pumps to ensure that the crawlspace stays dry even during large storms, so he replaced the 2 broken sump pumps with new ones. After that, Brad ran an extension cord from the power in the house to the pump that cycled the most water to help maintain the dry crawlspace until the crawl space power is functioning. The homeowner is considering a new battery backup system, however they have not decided on that yet.

The homeowner was very happy that we were able to diagnose the problem even though there was no power to see the sump pump system in the dark crawl space. Check out the new sump pumps that replaced the older sump pumps!
