This homeowner in Springfield, New Jersey noticed their crawl space was damp and attracting moisture. This can have many negative effects such as rotting wood, aggravated allergies, increased energy bills, and even mold growth! They contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Joe Mancini provided a thorough inspection and suggested they seal the crawl space from the earth's elements. Our foreman Esau began installing our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, which is a thick and durable liner that will prevent moisture and humidity from entering the crawl space. Homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems about replacing the screen to the opening of the crawl space with a sealed door to prevent cold air and humidity from getting inside the crawl space. When the appointment was set, we sent out our Crawl Space Encapsulation booklet to the homeowner to help generate any other questions or concerns the new homeowner would have. By the time of the appointment, the homeowner wanted to get as much information as possible about encapsulation.

Encapsulation is when we stop moisture from passing through the walls and floor of the crawl space by installing a CleanSpace liner. This durable, bright white liner is mold and moisture resistant and waterproof to seal the crawl space off from unwanted cold drafts, humidity, dirt and pests that try to get inside.
