After dealing with a hot attic in the summer and a freezing one in the winter, this homeowner in Rumson, NJ decided it was time to add so much needed blown-in cellulose insulation to the attic. As we inspected the attic, we noticed that a majority of the fiberglass insulation was deteriorated, due to age, and is now ineffective. Next, we placed several measuring sticks throughout the attic to ensure that the proper amount of R-value is added to the attic.

Next, we air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. This will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, improving energy efficiency. Lastly, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation.
