Challenge: These homeowners’ crawl space was always damp and humid, creating musty smells in the home.
Solution: This home is in a low-lying area with a high water table. Here’s what we did:
We levelled the uneven ground and installed drainage matting which helps move water into the newly installed crawl space sump pump, the SmartSump™. To seal the crawl space from the ground and the outside environment, we installed our super heavy-duty vapour barrier and sealed to the exterior walls with spray foam insulation. The last part of the repair is installing vent covers and sealing the crawl space access.
What a transformation!
Problem: This home had sagging floors and high humidity due to an exposed dirt floor.
Solution: Install a vapor barrier (CleanSpace) to isolate the home from the earth. Dig and pour new concrete footings and install steel support posts (jacks) that can be adjusted over time to lift the home back up. Install a high-performance dehumidifier.

Problem: This tight, uncomfortable and ugly access adds no value or practicality to the home.
Solution: Install a well (steel or vinyl) with a removable vinyl door. This is the EverLast Door. Only doors below grade need a well.

Problem: This home had a crawl space that was damp and musty. This undesirable crawl space air makes its way throughout the entire house in what’s known as the Stack Effect. The moist environment caused the fiberglass insulation to become ineffectual and saturated with water. These homeowners also needed some help with debris removal.
Solution: We encapsulated the damp dirt floor with our heavy duty CleanSpace crawl space vapour barrier liner (strong enough to walk on and store items upon!). Our team also added mould and mildew proof SprayFoam Insulation (inorganic; therefore, mould and mildew resistant) to help the home be more energy efficient.

Problem: Many homeowners believe that putting a layer of gravel in their crawl space will solve the water and moisture problems. This isn’t true and doesn’t work.
Gravel is porous and it does not stop water from moving or collecting.
Fixing a crawl space with a gravel floor presents two challenges:
It is difficult to dig trenches and create drains to properly direct the water out of the crawl space compared to dirt.
To further keep the humidity level acceptable and encapsulate the space, a very heavy duty liner is required, as the liner will be more prone to rips and tears with the rough gravel below it.
Solution:
Our experienced team members were able to create trenches and drains to effectively move the water into the crawl space sump pump.
Our CleanSpace®️ Liner is super heavy duty and durable enough to withstand the rocky floor encapsulated below.
