My neighbor had John’s Waterproofing work on his crawl space about 5 years ago which got me thinking about ours. Our backyard lawn was always marshy so we finally had turf installed, but it got me thinking that water may be in our crawl space, and we had this unpleasant odor throughout the house, not constant, but it would come and go. I finally made the call and scheduled the appointment for John’s Waterproofing to come out and inspect the crawl space and provide a quote. Keith arrived when expected, inspected the crawl space, and walked me through the quote, process, and timeline. I’m not going to lie the quote was a bit hard to swallow and we had to think about it a few days, but we finally made the decision to move forward. It is a process that takes time, but I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the John’s Waterproofing teams. Beginning with Keith who provided the quote to Delfino’s team that worked on the crawl space to David and his plumbing team and the ‘other’ David who sprayed in the insulation, they were all very informative, professional, courteous, and skilled. They always arrived on time between 8 – 9 am and even sending a text the day of giving us a more precise arrival time. I really can’t say enough about all the teams that worked on our crawl space. The house was built in 1962 so you also have to expect other things to arise when you start a project like this and ours was finding out all the plumbing was cast iron or galvanized (there is actually a difference between the two) and there was no drainage from the gutters/spouts, which led to all the water sitting at the foundation and seeping into the crawl space. You need to prepare yourself if you have an older home for additional repairs or upgrades to be needed. Although we can’t visibly see our investment every day, we are confident about the quality of the work that was done and now have peace of mind that our crawl space is clean and secure.
