After waiting over 3 months for the work to be done I was informed on the day of the work that did not have the product (enlo) used for insulating the crawl space and would not be encapsulating the crawl space just doing the ram jacks and that they would refund the remaining balance. That was not what was in my contract and would leave my crawl space without any insulation and put me at great risk for freezing pipes and leave it open to all types of problems. If I had been given this information prior to the work date I would have went with one of my other quotes because this was as important to the overall project as the ram jack installation. I was pretty upset because I had been in constant contact with Sammy my rep and was never told of this major change. As you can guess she was on vacation and I was having new tenants move in days after the work was to be completed. I was also travelling up to Portland staying in a hotel and was in no position to suddenly try and get another company with zero notice. My project lead was Eddy and he saved the day by going above and beyond to talk with engineers at TF to work out a solution. They decided to use spray foam instead and assured me it was just as good and would not change the original quote. I had them go forward with it based on this and Eddy and Jose completed the work a day before schedule. I really can't praise these 2 guys enough for there work but I am going to have an independent inspector come in to verify that this foam will not cause future problems with mold or termites because when I looked up the foam it may not have been a good solution in the long run and may actually cost me more money to repair there solution. I can't stress how unproffesional it was to make major deletions and changes to the work order with no time to investigate the changes. I will update my review after my inspection. It may actually be a good alternative to what I was initially quoted but if it was why didn't they offer it up as an option when they arrived the day of the install. If i turns out to be okay I still had to deal with this last minute and have to pay for an independent inspection because I have doubts about the work that was done. For Eddy and Jose I give them 5 stars but 2 stars for the company. Not a good way to do business Terra Firma and I would be very reluctant to use them again myself and would not reccomend to a friend.
Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where the company takes reservations and money but doesn't actually have the product. Sales was great at selling me the work and taking the money but had no intention of actually doing the full scope of the work I was promised. I am guessing they have too many projects on the table and thought they could just do the work that is fastest and makes the most money and I would just have to figure out the rest.
What type of work did you have done:
Foundation Repair
What made you choose our company:
Everything was okay until the day of the work and they dropped a big turd on me by eliminating the original project and leaving me and their own crew scrambling to find solutions to their mess up. Not a good business practice.
