This homeowner in West Union, SC was having some difficulty with water intrusion in their crawlspace. Water was building up under the home, which began to worry the homeowner, which was good on their part. They called our company to take a look at their crawlspace, and one of our Systems Design Specialist was able to give a quick and simple solution!
The "before" picture shows what this area looked like before our crew came in to install the CleanSpace liner. You can see the condensation that has accumulated under the old crawl space liner that had been put in the crawlspace before we came to the home. The good thing is that the water is being trapped under the liner, however, because it is not sealed correctly, the water is still able to into the crawlspace.
The "after" picture shows the area after the CleanSpace and drain matting was installed in the crawlspace. A picture is really worth a thousand words when it comes to jobs like these. You can see such a huge difference in the crawlspace with the CleanSpace installed. Not only is the liner functional, by keeping the water vapor from getting into the crawlspace, but it also makes the crawl space brighter and more "welcoming". The area is much cleaner and more pleasant to work in.
CleanSpace can really transform a crawlspace, as this customer in Liberty found out. This crawlspace had a lot of exposed ground and a lot of standing water, which can be very detrimental to your crawlspace's (and home's) overall health. This water will evaporate and start to weaken a home's wooden floor joists and begin to grow mold.
The "before" picture shows off a lot about this crawlspace. While it does not seem that bad, there are obvious signs of water in the crawlspace. The biggest sign is the amount of dirt on the old liner. While some of this may just be from workers crawling around or loose clay, the majority of this dirt/clay comes from water being in the crawlspace and moving the clay onto the liner. Once there, the water pools on the liner and begins to evaporate. We also see a lot of open ground in this photo, because the liner was not properly installed or secured onto the walls of the crawlspace.
The "after" picture shows a much brighter, cleaner, and water free crawlspace. This is the exact same area as the before picture but does not look like it at all. The CleanSpace liner is laid out following the contours of the crawlspace ground and walls. You will not ever have to worry about accidentally tearing it off the wall by walking or crawling on it. This liner will stay looking this good because there is no open earth to be exposed to.
Our crew installed CleanSpace and transformed this dark and dirty crawlspace, into a clean and bright crawlspace.
This customer, as with many other of our customers, had a moisture and mold problem in their crawlspace. The best way to remedy this is to call us to figure out exactly what you need! In this case, our system design specialist recommended Mold-X in order to get rid of any existing mold, and a CleanSpace Liner in order to prevent any further moisture from entering the crawlspace.
The "before" photo shows what moisture has done to this crawlspace and insulation. When there is excess moisture in the crawlspace, the insulation gets heavy and begins to fall. This is what has happened in this photo.
The "after" photo shows the same area our crew had installed the CleanSpace Encapsulation system. You can see that the customer opted to remove all of their installation, because of this we installed our Silver Glo Insulation, which helps cut down on heating and cooling costs. The customer can decide later on wheather they would like to reinstall insulation or leave it the way it is!
This customer had a dirty and messy crawl space, but that wasn't the biggest problem. Our Specialist noticed the standing water right away. Several different spots in the owners previous crawl space liner had sunk and had pools of water. Our team came to the rescue and installed our CleanSpace Liner and regraded the crawlspace to prevent water from continuing to pool.
The "before" photo shows the crawlspace before the installation of our CleanSpace Liner. On the right had side of the picture, you can see a small trough where water can collect, which can be very damaging to your foundation.
The "after" photo shows the installation of our CleanSpace Liner. It doesn't just stop on the ground, having the barrier go up the wall pushes any condensation down into our WaterGuard drainage system, where it will get pumped out.
