This home in Asheville, NC was experiencing water pooling in their basement. For help they call our team at All-Dry of the Carolinas! Our team installed a SuperSump Pump to rid the basement of its water. The SuperSump can pump up to 2,650 gallons an hour, has a WaterWatch system, Superliner with 96 holes for water flow, and an Airtight Lid. The SuperSump works in coordination with the Aprilaire, a dehumidifier which is used to collecting extra moister that is produced under your home. The SuperSump has a dehumidifier drain that connects the two machines to fully expel water from the crawlspace. From the machines, the water is pushed from the crawlspace through a drainage system to the LawnScape outlet.
While we deal with water intrusion and waterproofing issues on a daily basis, however something that we don't get to see nearly as often is when a basement is actually flooded. This is pretty much the worst case scenario of a home with a basement, but it is still something that we are able to take care of. Our system is able to handle a significant amount of water, even more so than this homeowner had experienced.
This photo does not quite do this situation justice with the amount of water that got into the basement. The main source of water intrusion was through this basement door that didn't really have any way of preventing water from getting in. When there would be heavy rains, the water would run down to the lowest area (the door) and would begin to slowly make its way into the home. The homeowners realized how big of an issue that this was and wished to get it taken care of as soon as possible!
Fortunately we have seen and waterproofed basements that were similar to this one and some that were even worse off. So when this homeowner came to us to see if we could help, we knew that we could. The product that has been installed in the photo is TrenchDrain, which is integrated into the WaterGuard system in areas that are prone to more water flowing over it (i.e. doorways). Now any water that makes it past the door is immediately captured by the drain and taken off to the sump pump!
This basement in Asheville, NC was taking on water. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed at WaterGuard. A water guard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. WaterGuard is different because it is designed to not sit in dirt like most draining systems do. There is a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall allowing wall seepage to drain through the WaterGuard while keeping it away from the dirt. Since this type of drainage is separated from dirt, the chances of it clogging are nearly impossible!
One problem that a lot of homes have in common, is the lack of proper crawlspace entrance. Almost all homes that we visit have some kind of entrance or cover, but they usually are not as good as they should be. Many of the doors that we see have holes in them, cracks around the door, and many other issues. The integrity of the door is extremely important to the health of the crawlspace.
This was the case for this home in Waynesville, North Carolina. As you can see, the yard around the entrance creates a great funnel leading to the entrance. This was a nightmare for the homeowner when it would rain, because the water would just pool around and seep into the crawlspace. This homeowner got more work done inside the crawlspace, which was another reason that this entrance solution was a necessity.
Our solution was this beautiful crawlspace entrance, it almost looks like something out of a Science-Fiction movie! As you can see, the entrance was attached to the home, and then the area around it was backfilled. This was a great solution to this homeowner's problem of the water pooling around the entrance. This also makes getting into the crawlspace much easier and safer. The most important part of this product is that it keeps water and water vapor from getting into the crawlspace, which will significantly decrease the relative humidity level in the crawlspace.
Minute cracks in basement walls are sometimes fixed with something as simple as paint. Other times, it’s just a little too big of a hassle, and you want to get rid of the problem all in one go. If that’s what you want to do, All-Dry of the Carolinas has a solution for you.
Let’s take a closer look at the ‘before’ photo. In this Waynesville, North Carolina home, the homeowners have already tried the paint approach. The paint tried; it failed. The chips and cracks have become very prominent against the white paint. They stand out like a speck of pepper in a sea of salt. Try as they might, they couldn’t make the paint outlast the cracks. With All-Dry of the Carolinas BrightWall paneling, they don’t have to try. It just does the job.
Our ‘after’ photo shows us the difference. See any cracks? Are there any chips of paint visible? No, sir. BrightWall is designed to completely cover any basement wall. It saves you money. If you have any other issues with the walls, tear it down. It’s as simple as one, two, and three.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
