This Vienna VA home had a major crawl space upgrade including floor covering and insulation, water proofing, spray foam installation and more. But the final step was replacing the old plywood door with and insulated, tightly sealing Everlast Crawl Space Door.
This set of photos is from a partially sub-terranean window in Vienna, Virginia that has been allowing water into the home for a long time. You can see that is was once a mess and the home owner tried an exterior quick fix, but the second photo shows the window after being waterproofed. Not only was the window waterproofed but so was the rest of the basement which you can find a full series of photos of in our gallery.
This dirt floor, uninsulated crawl space was transformed with our CleanSpace encapsulation system.
This home in Stafford VA had a crawl space that was cold, dirty, wet and had mildew collecting all over. The existing insulation attached to the crawl space ceiling was loose and smelled musty. The floors of the crawl space were covered with dirty old plastic that was trapping moisture allowing more mildew to appear. Our production crew cleared out all of the old insulation material and plastic floor covering before spraying to help prevent future issues. The dirt floors were smoothed over to make a more level and even surface. The open vents of the crawl space were sealed and then Silver Glo insulation paneling was installed on all of the crawl space walls. Smaller blocks of Silver Glo were cut to fit inside of the rim joists to the home and were air sealed in with Spray Foam. This air seal will eliminate the opportunity for outside temperatures and moisture to impact the conditions inside of the crawl space. Insulating the walls eliminates the need to insulate the ceiling of the crawl space.
This crawl space was in very poor shape when we arrived. There was excessive water damage to the foundation, walls, and fiberglass insulation. In fact, the insulation was so heavily saturated with water and mold that it was falling off the walls and ceiling. The homeowner was using duct tape to keep the insulation up! We removed the damaged insulation and installed an encapsulation system and Sedona dehumidifier to keep the crawl space clean, dry, and energy efficient moving forward.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
