Dear Sure-Dry Basement Systems. While we were wintering in Florida, Sure-Dry Basement Systems (SDBS) spent about five weeks successfully shoring-up our basement using helical piers and also installing a "fix" for a bowed basement wall. If you recall, we became very concerned late in the summer of 2004 when suddenly interior doors wouldn't open, crank-out windows became very sticky, and several "remarkable" cracks appeared in the basement and elsewhere. We had never experienced these phenomena before. Now, we are happy to say that interior doors shut properly, and windows crank open easily. The existing cracks will not disappear, but we have noticed no new ones, nor have the old ones become worse. We plan to wait another couple of months before repairing any cracks. Dealing with the staff of SDBS was and continues to be a pleasant experience. Everyone was respectful and kept us informed of progress toward rectifying the subsidence/bowing problems. Keep in mind that we were 1,200 miles away while the work was being completed. In addition, on a continuing basis, Jim of your firm has been so helpful with the torquing of the plates on the North basement wall. He is a true gentleman and a credit to your firm.We highly recommend SDBS to provide remedial solutions for foundation problems. Ours was a relatively high cost "fix," but we are thankful that there was an effective solution available. Working with all of you has been a very positive experience.Sincerely yours,Peter and Judy Derocher
