This Hawesville, KY basement would leak every time it rained. The homeowners needed a solution to repair and prevent the damage from reoccurring because they were tired of worrying about it. Their basement was full of valuable tools, equipment, keepsakes, and even a treadmill that they frequently used.

Our Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, quickly came to evaluate the home. After inspection, he concluded that the basement would need a WaterGuard system and a TripleSafe sump pump installed. The homeowners wanted something to cover the walls, so they decided on CleanSpace and Basement to Beautiful Panels.

A WaterGuard system would be used to take the intruding water straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump, where it would then be taken through exit lines and disposed of outside of the home. The CleanSpace wall covering brightens your basement, while also acting as a vapor barrier. The Basement to Beautiful Panels are custom engineered foam panels with studs that are fastened directly to your foundation walls. If the homeowners decide they want additional wall coverings over the panels, it will be an easy fix while still keeping it dry.

Efflorescence is a mineral build up on walls caused by groundwater seeping through concrete and then evaporating.  It can be unsightly, especially if the walls are bright white!

The Healthy Spaces installation team used Biocide to treat the walls for mold and then installed a vapor retarding treatment called Cactus Juice.  The walls look good as new!

Starr N. from Lewisport, KY was having issues with her floors. She had noticed that they were beginning to slope, creak, and felt uneven. As if the creaking floors weren't enough, she also noticed a musty smell worsening over time, which she thought could be mold. 

System Design Specialist, Mike McAtee, came to Starr's home to provide her with a free no-obligation inspection. He did a thorough inspection of her crawl space, as well as her main floor. When he was finished, he proposed a solution for the sagging floor. He recommended that SmartJack Stabilizers be installed. These are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in a crawl space. This is the best opportunity to lift the above floors and walls back to their original position. This would be a permanent solution, unlike the light-duty jack posts that were currently in the crawl space. These don't work because they can hold very little weight, are difficult to adjust, and don't address the most important problem- the weak foundation soils below.

Sara's home in Gentryville, IN had a water problem in her basement. Not being able to use it for storage due to the water, she gave Healthy Spaces a call. Our System Design Specialist, Jason Dausmann, met with the homeowner to discuss his issues. Jason completed an inspection of the basement and designed a plan for this basement that was sure to keep it water-free. From there, the installer crew got straight to work. The solution to this basement was to install a full perimeter WaterGuard system to prevent water to enter the area. This system is installed around the perimeter of the basement and will collect water internally and channel it to the sump pump. The sump pump will then discharge the water away from the home.
