Homeowner Susan M. in Clive, IA was growing tired of the crawl space always being dirty and having bugs and mice in the space. The space has never been sealed off from the outside, so she was ready to make the space feel cleaner and brighter. Having used Midwest in the past, she didn’t hesitate to give us a call again.
Service Technician Brandon Roast went out to Susan’s home. He performed a thorough inspection of the crawl space. It was dark and the plastic lining had many holes in it. The crew encapsulated the space with CleanSpace and sealed up all the seams and tops to make sure the space was useable, and nothing could get in the crawl space again. Susan was very impressed with the quality of work and how well the crew worked together.
This homeowner was experiencing a musty smell in his house that he wanted to get rid of. He gave Midwest a call and System Design Specialist, Elliott Christians, came out to meet with him. Elliot found his crawlspace was not encapsulated, which was causing the musty smell to rise into the living area. Elliott proposed we use our CleanSpace, our durable and waterproof encapsulation system to help combat this musty smell and help keep the home safe. Check out the before and after to this project!
These homeowners own a buy and resell business. They noticed they were experiencing some moisture in their basement, and knew they needed to get this fixed fast. They called Midwest and System Design Specialist, Cody Shipley, came out to help. Together, they decided on CleanSpace and WaterGuard. CleanSpace is used as a barrier to keep water out. The water goes down the CleanSpace and into the WaterGuard, which will flow to a sump pump and out of the home. There is no doubt these homeowners will be able to run their business without worry of water damage!
Keeping your crawlspace dry is crucial in preventing mold and protecting your home. CleanSpace prevents any water from entering your home through the foundation walls. This home is now protected, and the homeowner can live worry free!
These homeowners were concerned about their uneven floors. They were already planning to have their radon mitigated, so they decided to have some work done in their crawlspace as well.
They gave us a call for a free estimate, so we sent System Design Specialist James Denning to look at the crawlspace and determine if they were causing the floors to sag. James found that there was a damp, musty smell coming from the crawlspace due to excess moisture in the air, which was also causing the floor supports to weaken. After discussing the options with James and seeing the pre-mailer book they received about crawlspace repairs, they decided to have us take care of their crawlspace repairs. Our team determined that they needed to bury the downspouts so that water could not get into the crawlspace and cause problems with moisture. The team then installed Silver Gloe Insulation to help save on energy cost for the homeowners. Finally, our team addressed the support problems by using SmartJacks and adding supplemental beams to even out the floor as well as installing a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to finish protecting the support beams from moisture.
The homeowners were so glad that they had us help with their crawlspace. They were grateful that we were able to work with and around their Radon company as well. Check out their newly secured crawlspace!
