Our Customer Elizabeth K. wanted to replace her submarine like basement window. Unfortunately, customers often don’t realize that basement companies should be installing any basement windows. Ayers has the knowledge and expertise to make sure your windows are secured and sealed and will not allow water to leak into your home. In addition, egress windows allow for an additional exit out of your basement, that you can actually fit through, in the case of an emergency.
We received a call from a customer in Granger, Indiana about his basement, he was experiencing wet walls so we gave him a free estimate and then decided to install WaterGuard technology among many things. The WaterGuard is the pipe that runs water underneath the floors. This system runs on top of the footing instead of alongside it. The WaterGuard has a big drain outlet to the sump. It also has a built in tiny gap between the floor and the wall so that it can drain any wall leaks. This system is designed not to clog by having holes in case of debris clogging the pipe. The WaterGuard collects the water from drains in the basement.
A homeowner wanted our team to install an egress window and well in her home. Egress Windows provide a safe exit in case of emergency so they are required in finished basement living areas. In addition to having a safe exit in your basement, these windows provide lots of natural light. Lastly, most windows offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home due to poor insulation around the window. Egress windows will help ventilate your indoor areas and prevent unwanted allergens from entering your house.
Tim was looking to get a better window installation that would replace his current small basement window. He gave Ayers a call to see the options we offer. Our crew informed him that he would love our Egress Window option and he decided to go ahead with the installation.
Our Egress Windows are the perfect option for basement windows as they are larger so they provide more natural light which opens up your space more. This is a great idea for when you want to finish your basement for guests and entertainment. These windows include a well with a step in it to allow for a quick and easy exit option in the case of an emergency. We also installed a cover and lid for the window to ensure it remains protected and sealed.
Tim was very satisfied with the finished and more inviting look the Egress Window offered his basement space!
