Waterproofing a Home to Prepare for Guests

In April, Shirley and her husband noticed a wet carpet smell in their finished basement and just recently discovered that there is water intrusions where the floor and wall met. They have some family coming into town and want them to stay at their home but that is not likely with the water issues. We used the WaterGuard drain system to collect water and send it to the sump pump. It gets installed under the floor but all concrete is restored afterwards. We also installed the DoubleSafe sump pump to pump the water outside of the home. Last thing we used to keep the space dry and clean was the SaniDry XP. This upright dehumidifier has a powerful motor to blow dry air through the space and dry it out. It also filters air for dust, mold, and other particles.

Basement Waterproofing in East Lansing MI

Anne and her husband had some water issues in their basement. The water was coming in all around the edges of the basement and they did not have a sump pump to keep the water out so it would collect on the floor. Since they travel a decent amount, they want to have peace of mind that the home will be protected and safe from flooding. We installed the WaterGuard drain to collect the water that seeps into the basement and send it to the sump pump to be discharged outside. To make sure the home was safe we installed 2 sump pumps on either side of the space. The SuperSump Plus is designed to keep the basement dry for extended periods of time and has a back up battery to make sure that the home is dry even if the home loses power.

TripleSafe Sump Pump Saves the Day in Lansing, MI

Eric's house is a block foundation with poured floors. Originally the basement's only way to drain water was a floor drain; however, Eric mentioned it failed to do the job. Not to mention, after a recent storm, he vacuumed 230 gallons of water out of the basement. After receiving a recommendation for Ayers, Eric decided to reach out and find a solution.

After calling, an Ayers System Design Specialist came to his home. Once the house was analyzed, the team at Ayers believed the TripleSafe Sump Pump was the best solution. The TripleSafe Sump Pump utilized three different pumps (all in one liner). The first pump, the lowest pump in the liner, acts as the primary pump and usually does all the work. If the first pump malfunctions or can't keep up, the second pump will turn on and begin pumping water. If a power failure occurs, the third pump, connected to an external battery, will turn on and start pumping.

Eric will no longer need to worry about water entering his basement and becoming an issue!

WaterGuard Saves this East Lansing, MI Basement from Water Leaks

Daisy made the right call when she notified Ayers after noticing her basement seemed to have a leak from the floor. Our crew at Ayers decided that installing WaterGuard and TripleSafe would ensure the basement's protection from such water leaks.

WaterGuard is the perfect solution as it acts as a drainage system, catching any leakage from higher levels and is installed in the sub-floor of your basement to keep dirt/water away from your foundation. Concrete will be poured over top as well as regular flooring if desired. Next, the TripleSafe utilizes three sump pumps with battery backups in place to assure it protects from water leaks, even in power outages.

Daisy is now worry-free from these pesky water leaks that were making her basement carpets wet!

WaterGuard System Protects Basement in East Lansing, MI from Heavy Rain Leaks

Thom was dealing with water leaks in his basement after heavy rainfalls and decided enough was enough, he needed professional help. After calling Ayers we sent out a crew to examine the issue. It was decided installing our WaterGuard System would be the best solution.

WaterGuard is a sub-floor drainage system that is placed along the perimeter of your basement and prevents water or dirt from getting to your foundation. The water will instead flow to your drainage pipes and be directed to your sump pump system. Concrete is poured over top to conceal the drainage system and regular flooring can even be installed over this as well if desired.

Thom is happy to have the pesky water leaks taken care of with this new waterproofing system installation!
