A homeowner from Mazeppa, MN, was chatting with his neighbor one morning when his neighbor informed him that he had his home tested for radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about the dangerous gas but decided perhaps he should have his home tested as well. His neighbor had told him that American Waterworks offers radon testing in MN, so the homeowner decided to call us and schedule his FREE estimate. In the meantime, the homeowner headed to his local home improvement store to buy an at-home radon test. When the results came back high, he was confident that he had made the right choice by contacting American Waterworks.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Mac C, headed out to the home. He started the appointment by scouting the best place for a radon mitigation system for this home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. Mac began by explaining that the homeowner had done the right thing by testing his home and calling us. Mac went on to say that the tricky thing about radon is that because it's odorless, colorless, and tasteless, it's impossible to know whether or not your home is infested without proper testing. Mac then went on to say that because the levels in the home were well above 4 pCi/Ls, he was recommending a radon mitigation system be installed in the home. He then explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner liked the sound of Mac's plan and scheduled the job for some time later.
Eventually, the day of the installation rolled around. Our Foreman, Dakota M, was able to successfully install the radon mitigation system without any worries. Now, our homeowner can be confident that only the healthiest air is circulating in his home.
This Austin, MN homeowner contacted American Waterworks after noticing the north-side of his exterior foundation was crumbling and failing. American Waterworks was able to prevent any further deterioration and restore the foundation with a process called Wall Restoration. Now the wall is strong, smooth and attractive.
Jim contacted American Waterworks for a free estimate in late July after seeing our concrete leveling commercials on TV. He was interested in having about a 10 foot section of his driveway leveled, along with a section of sidewalk that had sunk near the entrance of his home. As you can see, American Waterworks was easily able to level the concrete slab using our trusted and affordable PolyLEVEL technology and prevent any further trip hazards from guests entering his home.
Jordan P in Austin, MN was suffering from water leaking into his basement during heavy rains. He wanted to have his basement repaired as soon as possible, so he started looking for a waterproofing contractor. He found the American Waterworks website and was happy to see that we offer FREE estimates. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to inspect his basement and provide him with a solution. Pete designed a thorough plan that was specific to Jordan’s waterproofing needs, and Jordan decided to move forward with the installation of our waterproofing system.
Our production crew installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system into the concrete floor and connected it to a TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump. The TripleSafe is backed by three layers of protection which includes a battery backup that can pump out 11,500 gallons of water on a full charge. The water leaking into Jordan’s basement is now properly guided through the WaterGuard drainage system into the sump pump. From there, the water gets pushed through the discharge line to the outside of the home. Jordan is glad he chose a system that will protect his basement for the long-term.

A homeowner in Austin, MN had water leaking throughout their basement, causing them to worry about their basement during harsh weather conditions. They got in contact with our office line and got a FREE Estimate scheduled. Our Design Specialist went to their home, carefully examined the issues, and drew out a solution for them and their home repair needs. The homeowner was confident in the solution, so they signed the contract and moved forward with the installation.
Our Foreman and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, which prevents water and mud clogs and collects water leakage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the entire wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace prevents mold and humidity, and gives the basement a neat and clean appearance, while also keeping the basement warm. Lastly, our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which solves all three water problems in one unit, provides three layers of protection, and comes up with a battery back-up, in case of power failure. To complete the project, our team covered the open floor gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them. The homeowner was ecstatic with the repairs and had a great experience with our team!
