A homeowner in Medford, Massachusetts was told by a home inspector that his foundation was not properly supporting the rest of the home. This can create sagging and uneven floors when left untreated. In worst case scenarios, floors can collapse. Looking to maintain property value before selling the home, he looked to our Erickson team for a solution.

Our Design Specialist, Kenneth Calabrese, performed a free home inspection. He then confirmed that the foundation needed additional support. To do this, Kenneth recommended installing SmartJacks. SmartJacks are similar to Lally columns. They are made of galvanized steel, including plates that are cemented into the foundation. Once installed, the floor above is instantly supported and stabilized. Floor sagging and sloping is eliminated.

With the SmartJacks in place, the selling process for this homeowner just became a lot easier. The next person to inherit the home will have a safe and permanently stable foundation.

The homeowner contacted their insurance provider and they processed their claim and recommended they call a company to get their home repaired and the insurance will pay for it. The homeowner searched for the best company to repair their foundation and they found EFS. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist recommended installing and removing the damaged section of the foundation and replacing it with a new Masonry Wall. 

This homeowner had a large foundation wall crack in their basement. To effectively seal it, we first injected a polyurethane sealant, which expands as a foam inside the crack. The surface of the crack is then sealed with an epoxy. This two part system is guaranteed to stop any leaks and prevent any water damage. A crack monitor is also installed to help monitor any future foundation wall movement.
