A crawl space under our first-floor bedroom was created when the original owners of the house put on an addition. The space had a dirt floor and vents to the outdoors. A number of years ago, we hired someone to insulate the crawl space. He installed insulation on all of the surfaces and covered it with plastic. When we checked the condition of the crawl space in the early summer, we discovered that the insulation was moldy and falling down, the vents were rotted (allowing access to the house by critters of all sizes), and the space had very high humidity. We couldn't call Connecticut Basement Systems fast enough! Just a few days after calling Connecticut Basement Systems, Stephen Machnicz came to the house, donned a hazmat suit, and crawled in to assess the situation. He explained what Connecticut Basement Systems would do and put us on their schedule. Foreman Jony and helper Cristian Fernandez took it from there. Protected by hazmat suits and respirators, Jony and Cristian hauled out loads of damp insulation, nuts stored by the critters, fur, and heaven knows what else. Once they cleared the space, they sealed off the vents and installed multiple barriers on the floor and up the walls. Part of this basement system is a heavy-duty dehumidifier. Jony and Cristian also installed an alarm that will notify us if water begins collecting as a result of something such as a broken pipe. The final step for Jony and Cristian was to spray foam insulation along the top edge of the basement system abutting the floor of the bedroom above. Thanks to Jony, Cristian, and electrician John Gromotskie, who wired the dehumidifier, we have a clean, dry, critter-free space under our bedroom. We can even use it for storage now!  

Dear Mr. Janesky,  I would like to commend David Duncan, a Service Technician who has come to my house to examine a water SumpPump that was not working very good at the time. David Duncan was very knowledgeable and from what I observed a hard worker in working on my Sump Pump system -- explaining the problem and fixing the problem. I found David to be a very honest and caring person and it is good that you have good people like David working for you. David explained everything about the system to me in a very professional manner. Again, I would like to salute David of Connecticut Basement Systems. You have a good man working for you.

I wanted to thank you for the waterproofing services your company performed to our basement.  We contacted Connecticut Basement Systems and were comfortable the moment we met your specialist.  He took the time to thoroughly inspect the basement, listen to our questions and concerns and walk us through the entire waterproofing process.  Following his inspection and presentation we agreed to complete the project.  We opted to finance a portion of the project and by the time he left our house that day, we received a copy of the written estimate, knew the scheduled start date for the project and monthly payments to finance the project.  Your specialist was always available to answer all my questions before the work was completed.  Your crew was both polite and efficient.  Since the project has been completed we have noticed there is no longer a strong damp odor from the basement and the humidity throughout the basement is now normal. This is NOT a concern, but rather a note to thank you and to tell you how happy we are that our basement water problems are in the competent hands of Connecticut Basement Systems. Whenever your technicians come up to service our pumps they are great! We did have a problem last evening. On Monday we had a new double battery installed and service on both the pumps. Unfortunately the connection wasn't tightened and there was water leaking. A wonderful technician arrived a couple of hours later and fixed the problem immediately...driving an hour's distance. I never feel that you are trying to sell us something we don't need and your techs seem to be trying to help us save money if possible. Thank you for your service!! Judy & Bob

I have NO concerns!!! This note is far overdue. In the spring your company came to extend the pipe from our stump pump to the woods so that our property would not be so wet. We were planning a wedding in about a month and a half from when the work was done. Because of the distance from the pump to the woods, your technician planned to use equipment to dig the trench for the pipe. When I explained that we needed the lawn to look good for the wedding he HAND DUG the trench leaving the lawn almost as good as it was previous to the work. I want to thank Connecticut Basements for being so helpful and considerate. This is not the first time that we have found your company to go out of your way to help customers. Please feel free to use my name and/or this note in any advertising. Connecticut Basement Systems is the BEST!!! You rock!!!

You sent Brendan out today to double check to make sure the sump pumps were working properly. I just wanted to tell you that you can send him out here any time, he is a delight. He was charming and nice and anytime we need service please send us Brendan. We really like Basement Systems and you always done well by us and we always have good things to say about you guys. Brian, Thank you and CT Basement Systems for the prompt help with my issue. As I mentioned, my daughter is getting married this week and we have a house full of guests from out of town. It would not be a very good time to also have to deal with a flood. Bill just left. He was pleasant and clearly knew his business. He did a professional job of cleaning out the sludge, showing me the workings of the system and letting me know realistic expectations on the motor life. That said, I decided to err on the side of caution and replace the motor which he had with him. He finished up and cleaned up everything – then last we walked outside to be sure the ejection area was in order. I can rest assured that what was a panic situation just a short time ago is dealt with. Thanks again for all your help and having wonderful and knowledgeable field service folks. They certainly saved the day here.
