SuperSump Sump Pump System Installed in Inman, SC

This homeowner was worried about the water intrusion that they were experiencing in their lake house in Inman, SC. This was an even more pressing issue since the owners did not live in this home year-round. They wanted to get this problem taken care of so that they wouldn't have to worry about water getting into the basement, or having to constantly check on this home.

One of the main parts of this system was the SuperSump that was installed in the home's basement. The sump pump is what really gets the water out of the basement and away from the home. In this basement, we also installed WaterGuard and ZenWall Panels. These are both extremely important to the system. The ZenWall helps to give the basement a more finished feel, but its inorganic construction allows it to drain any water coming through the basement walls to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a perimeter drain that collects the water from around the basement and drains it to the sump.

This basement was the perfect size for this sump pump. One of the things that we like to do is to solve our customer's problems while doing our best to keep our system from being visible. Sometimes this is almost impossible, but this home had a perfectly sized closet, that just barely had enough room for this SuperSump to fit in it. This also worked pretty well for the drain line, going up along the wall and out to the driveway and eventually the yard!

WaterGuard Installed in basement of an Inman, SC home

This finished basement in Inman, SC was taking on water. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed out waterproofing technology, such as CleanSpace, draining matting, a sump pump, a LawnScape outlet, and a WaterGuard. A water guard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. WaterGuard is different because it is designed to not sit in dirt like most draining systems do. There is a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall allowing wall seepage to drain through the WaterGuard while keeping it away from the dirt. Since this type of drainage is separated from dirt, the chances of it clogging are nearly impossible!

ThermalDry installed in Scaly Mountain, NC

All basements are uniquely different than others. Although some basements might require the same process of work to manager moisture levels, sometimes there are other routes to take. This basement in Scaly Mountain, NC took a route of action that is rarely used anymore.

To address the issue of moisture in their basement they had our All-Dry of the Carolinas team install The ThermalDry Wall System. Our ThermalDry Wall system is a type of vapor barrier that has two different sides. The side that is attached to the wall is made of bubble wrap. This bubble wrap provides space for the water that is leaking down the walls to flow into the WaterGuard. The bubble wrap also works as insulation for the basement. On the other side of the ThermalDry Wall system, it is made of foil; this foil is used to reflect heat back into the basement.

WaterGuard was also added to the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard system intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the basement. The WaterGuard leads the water to the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the basement outside to the LawnScape outlet. All resulting in a dry basement! The SuperSump Pump is a sump pump that can pump up to 2,650 gallons an hour, has a WaterWatch system, Superliner with 96 holes for water flow, and an Airtight Lid. The SuperSump then drains all water outside through the LawnScape Outlet.

In the ‘Before” picture you can see our All-Dry of the Carolinas team preparing the basement to the installation of WaterGuard. In the “After” picture you see a fulling insulated basement with ThermalDry Wall and WaterGuard.

WaterGuard Installed in Sunset, SC Basement with High Humidity

This basement was having some issues with the relative humidity level. It was much higher than it should have been, which gives mold a chance to grow on any organic surface in the basement. The was potentially a pretty serious issue, as mold can cause health problems if left unchecked. Fortunately, this homeowner caught the problem quick enough that no mold had grown.

The "before" picture shows what this area in the basement looked like before the system was installed. The main part of this photo that we want to focus on is the wet spot to the left of the brick. The problem with water intrusion is that it is not always visible, and even when it is, sometimes it is not even that noticeable. However, having that water there shows that there is water intrusion around that area.

The "after" photo shows the area with the WaterGuard already installed. This system will help to keep water from just sitting in the basement and evaporating, increasing the relative humidity level. The WaterGuard leaves a small gap in between the wall to catch any water that soaks through the wall. This systems has helped this homeowner to have a safer, cleaner, and healthier basement.

Water Intrusion and Mold Growth in Lyman, SC Basement Leads to WaterGuard Installation

Water getting into the basement of a home can cause more problems than people realize. The water can start to damage the floors and wall where it is coming through into the basement, but that is not where the damage stops. Having water in the basement of a home means there is more moisture and more moisture means the possibility for mold growth. It may seem insignificant, but if this isn't taken care of in a timely manner the mold spores can be circulated throughout the home and begin causing health issues with occupants of the home.

This homeowner started to worry about their basement after they began to notice water stains on their basement walls. However this was only part of the problems with this basement. After awhile, the homeowners also began to see mold growth in the basement. This was the point that they knew this wasn't just a small issue, but that they needed to have a professional come out and see what could be done to take care of these issues.

Fortunately we knew we would be able to help out this homeowner because we've fixed similar problems hundreds, if not thousands of times before. While this was a serious issue, it had a relatively simple fix. Our crew installed our WaterGuard drain along the perimeter of the basement in order to catch the water coming into the area. The crew also installed a SuperSump pump system in order to pump the water away from the home. With just these two products we were able to keep this homeowner from having to worry about water getting into their basement.
