CleanSpace Installed in Simpsonville, SC Crawlspace with Moisture Issues

Many times the problems with crawlspaces are not very visible. Moisture and water vapor are extremely hard to notice unless the problems are either extreme, or you have the correct tools. This is one of the reasons why some homeowners let a small issue pass them by, because they haven't even been able to identify it as an issue. And as with many of the problems that we deal with, the longer it goes without being fixed, the more damage can occur.

This is what had happened in this particular project. The homeowners had never noticed that the moisture level in the crawlspace was too high and just continued getting worse as time went on. Fortunately at some point they began to notice more water and moisture in their crawlspace and decided to call All-Dry of the Carolinas. They were able to catch the problem and have our company come in before the water did any more damage.

The CleanSpace makes a huge difference in a crawlspace, with both function and looks. This homeowner had the CleanSpace wall installed all of the way up the wall, which helps to catch even more moisture. While the CleanSpace does a great job with keeping water and moisture out, there was also a dehumidifier that was installed in order to ensure that the humidity level of the crawlspace was below the point where mold is able to grow.

Bare Crawlspace in Simpsonville, SC Receives CleanSpace Encapsulation

Water intrusion and moisture issues in a crawlspace can be very difficult to identify, unless something is obviously wrong like standing water, soaked insulation, or mold growth. It can be both a blessing and a curse, but many homeowners don't have these glaring problems, so the crawlspace slowly gets worse and worse and the humidity level continues to increase. This can began to cause more serious problems under the home and will eventually need to be taken care of.

The first photo exemplifies this pretty well. While nothing seems wrong in this crawlspace at the moment, you can't actually see the high humidity levels of the crawlspace. Fortunately the homeowner was able to catch the increasing humidity levels before anything got too high. However, there is some evidence of water intrusion along the bottom of the walls, which is an even more pressing issue.

The "after" picture show the same area but after the CleanSpace had been installed. The CleanSpace really changes the look and function of a crawlspace. Even though the CleanSpace in this crawlspace only goes a few inches up the wall, it still creates a great barrier between the crawlspace and the outside. We can't overlook how much better the crawlspace looks with the installed CleanSpace either!

Simpsonville, SC Crawlspace in Need of New Door Gets EverLast Door Installed

Crawlspace doors are an important part of a crawlspace although they are often overlooked by homeowners. While the entrance to a crawlspace is usually not the main source of moisture, it can certainly contribute to it. Not having the proper door, at the very least, will allow moisture and water vapor to make its way into the crawlspace. However, in a situation like heavy rains/flash flooding the water could actually rise high enough to get into the crawlspace.

The entrance to this crawlspace was really not much of a door or barrier of any kind. It was essentially a wooden frame with some mesh wire attached to it. This meant that air, water, and just about anything else could flow straight through into the crawlspace. This was pretty much the first thing that our Specialist saw and knew that it was certainly going to be an issue. Fortunately, he had a great plan to take care of it!

The solution for this was to install an EverLast door, which is a huge improvement on the old door. The EverLast door ensures that an airtight seal is formed around the entrance when the door is closed. This keeps air from getting out, which also means that no water vapor or moisture is getting into the crawlspace this way. Another huge benefit of the EverLast door is that it is made completely of inorganic materials, which means that it will not rot out and mold cannot grow on it!

Damp Simpsonville, SC Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

Crawlspaces can be pretty strange areas. Keeping a crawlspace dry can be an even more strange process. For example, we generally suggest homeowners close and seal their vents, if they are having a system like ours installed or if they're going to at least install a dehumidifier. But we wouldn't recommend this if that was the only thing the homeowner was going to do. Knowing what needs to be done takes a lot of expertise because there are many different variables.

This homeowner was not having a major issue with moisture in their crawlspace but still wanted to have their crawlspace encapsulated. While many homeowners have our systems installed out of need, we have a good many who just love the system and get it installed just in case anything ever were to happen. This homeowner thought that they may be having some minor moisture issues, so they thought in order to be safe they would have one of our systems installed.

The second photo shows what the area looked like after our crew had come out to the home and installed the CleanSpace liner. The CleanSpace completely transforms the crawlspace by sealing everything off. It makes the area look much better, but more importantly, it keeps any moisture from getting into the crawlspace. This homeowner was extremely happy that they not only had a great looking crawlspace, but also one that they never had to worry about moisture issues with!

Total Encapsulation in Simpsonville, SC

Our All-Dry crew was able to install a series of our waterproofing technology that would take care of the water issue in the crawlspace. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, sump pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation.   A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A SumpPump is to flush out entering water and excess water from the dehumidifier from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.
