After examining the home and performing the manometer survey, we believed the home could be experiencing foundation settlement at the north side, the south side and the west side of the home.

Our solution to the foundation settlement issue this home was experiencing was to underpin* the areas that are experiencing movement. *Underpinning is the process of installing deep foundation elements called piles. These piles are driven down past the unstable soils and are then locked up into load bearing strata that can support the loads that are put on them.

This home's new owner wated to address the foundation issues currently presenting in the house.

In Show Low, Arizona, a commercial property owner faced a critical issue with the building's crawl space. The floors above the crawl space had started to sag, leading to uneven surfaces that were not only unsightly but also potentially hazardous for employees and visitors. The underlying support system had deteriorated due to high moisture levels and the increased load from recent renovations. Concerned about the structural integrity and safety of the building, the owner reached out to Arizona Foundation Solutions for a comprehensive evaluation and a long-term solution.

Foreman Steven, Customer Care Representative Elida, and Design Specialist Melissa from Arizona Foundation Solutions were assigned to the project. Melissa conducted a detailed assessment and recommended the installation of the SmartJack® Crawl Space Support System, a robust solution designed for commercial applications requiring additional support.

On the day of the installation, Steven and his crew arrived at the site with a clear plan. They meticulously marked the installation points for the SmartJack® systems and prepared the base by clearing and leveling the soil. To enhance the bearing capacity, well-compacted crushed stone was used, providing a stable foundation for the SmartJack® components.

The SmartJack® steel columns were then installed and adjusted to lift and stabilize the sagging floors. Each jack was securely fastened to the beams and floor joists, ensuring a precise and durable fit for the commercial property. The installation process, which included several SmartJacks® due to the building's size and the extent of the floor sagging, was completed within five days.

The results were immediate and impressive. The floors were restored to their original level, eliminating uneven surfaces and enhancing the overall safety and appearance of the building. The SmartJack® system's high load capacity and corrosion-resistant properties guarantee long-lasting support, crucial for the commercial property's demands.
