The temperature in this O'Fallon crawl space was 71 degrees, but the humidity level was over 80.  This high level of humidity caused mold to grow rapidly, and wood rot was affecting the floor joist and sub-flooring. Another major problem was that the crawl space air was getting up into the house.  Unfortunately, if it's in your crawl space, it's in your home.  We installed a complete encapsulation system of CleanSpace® and SaniDry® dehumidifier to solve these problems.  The upstairs air quality was greatly improved and the energy bills dropped too!

A crawlspace in Walshville, Illinois, needed to be sealed. It was leaking humid air up into the home, while also letting heat escape as well. Woods came in and installed the CleanSpace System to encapsulate the area. This system consists of a highly durable sheet of material that is placed directly on the walls and ground of the crawlspace. Not only does this help with the humidity, but this seal will also protect the crawlspace from rot, insects, and the outside elements. CleanSpace also brightens up the crawlspace, reflecting any available light back inward. With this installation in place, this crawlspace will be sealed for decades into the future.

CleanSpace was installed. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that keeps water from entering the crawlspace. Because it is inorganic, it does not support mold growth.

Woods installed CleanSpace lining to seal off the space. CleanSpace is very durable and does not rip easily. This lining is attached to the walls of the crawlspace to separate the ground from the house, creating an effective vapor barrier.
