Too much water in a crawl space can cause floor joists to sag.  After taking care of the water problem in this Belleville crawl space with CleanSpace®, our SmartJack® structural support columns helped adjust the flooring back to a more level position.  If further adjustments are necessary in the future, the SmartJack® system makes these adjustments easily!

This home in Belleville, IL. was vulnerable to damaging hazards such as water, mold and rodents thanks to its dirt crawlspace. The dirt floor of the crawlspace would no block water or mold spores from rising into the home and offered burrowing critters like mice a free entrance into the underside of the home. 

To protect the home from these hazards, homeowner Kathy L. hired Woods Basement Systems to install their CleanSpace™ system. CleanSpace™ is a waterproof, anti-microbial barrier that protects the crawlspace from outside hazards like mold. Once CleanSpace™ is installed, the crawlspace can be insullated to help make the entire home more energy efficient.

Michael had two crawl spaces that were both experiencing a moisture problem on his home. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist John S. developed a plan to get the space dry. 

Foreman James L. and his crew were able to install Vent Covers, CleanSpace with drainage matting, Rim Joist Spray Foam, and a SmartPump sump pump. At the core of this system, the CleanSpace with drainage matting is an inorganic, anti-microbial vapor barrier. It is designed to redirect water vapor from the dirt and that comes through the porous walls to the sump pump. It also will fight mold by cutting of the food source for the spores. 

With the whole system, Michael now has two crawl spaces that he can use for storage and that have cleaner air to increase the air quality of his whole home.

The Rim Joist Spray Foam is a game changer in air quality. The Rim Joist is a joint at the top of the wall that connects the floors above to the foundation walls. This is usually wood and can be damaged overtime by bugs, water, and mold. Gaps then form allowing for air and moisture transfer. By using spray foam, we can get into the gaps and cracks for a superior coverage and barrier.

Chuck and Jane Warren had water leaking into there basement, so they called Woods Basement Systems for a solution. Systems design specialist, Luke K. was able to find a solution and recommended installing a Twin pack sump pump, CleanSpace, and WaterGuard.

Foreman, Melvin F. installed the products. The twin pack pump includes two stainless steel pumps used to protect against flooding and leaks. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier used to collect water that seeps through basement walls. WaterGuard is installed in the perimeter of the basement floor below the CleanSpace. It takes the collected water and guides it to the sump pump where it can be removed from the home. 

Now Chuck and Jane Warren have a dry basement.
